I agree except I think it will happen shortly after the next earnings report. Next quarter will be a blowout. Large sequential growth and high margins.
To be a little fair, the stock price did get ahead of itself at one point, but I agree that it is a great deal now.
What makes you think HIMX has anything to do with Lenovo smart glasses? I thought Lenovo was going with Vuzix glasses with Kopin displays.
Wow, this company is pumping out the good reports and this one is no exception. They are increasing margins by getting rid of low margin business. They are extremely nimble and have been able to transfer some production from China to lower cost parts of the world.
The balance sheet is spotless with a 4 current ratio, no long term debt, and it is selling below book value (at least for now but probably not much longer).
The short on this board has been proven wrong once again. Please go back and look at the posting records. Why in the world would one short an undervalued company with growing margins, a great balance sheet, paying dividends, and nice track record? I won't complain though
Where do you get the impression that they are optimistic on their growth prospect? I don't follow the company but I am assuming they don't have a conference call and I see little in their new release.
Sales don't look to be exploding but they are increasing profitability nicely.
We just got trapped again with another juicy dividend. This is a great company that is very shareholder friendly. Thanks to the company and the shorts who pay the dividend :) Keep up the good work!
You are sounding like a broken record ... or maybe just a poor analyst. This company is still earning good money quarter after quarter in spite of all your wrong predictions.
That doesn't sound good for HIMX.
No Himax parts in the teardown reports that I saw.
Here are the chips of note on the phone's logic board as identified by iFixit, starting with the ones on the front of the board:
Samsung K3QF2F200A-QGCE 16 Gb (2GB) LPDDR3 RAM (the CPU and GPU are layered underneath this chip, per iFixit)
Samsung KLMBG4GEAC-B001 32 GB eMMC NAND Flash
Qualcomm WCD9320 audio codec
Qualcomm QFE2320 multiband power amplifier
InvenSense MPU6500 (labeled as MP65 G266B1 L1351) NXP 47803 NFC controller
And the chips found on the back of the Fire Phone's logic board:
Qualcomm PM8941 power management IC
Qualcomm WTR1625L RF transceiver
Skyworks SKY85702-11 5 GHz WLAN front-end module
Qualcomm WCN3680 802.11ac combo Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/FM chip
Absolutely. The company has grown and has wonderful new product prospects. I would love to hear new stuff announce but there is a limitation to what he can say before things actually happen or become official. Trying to manipulate the stock price isn't his job and shouldn't be.
I have the biggest loser with HIMX. I still like it and am averaging down.

Wow, those guys charge a 1% fee for buying bitcoin. I thought one of the appeals of this currency is the low transactions costs involved. I really don't understand this thing and what the fuss is all about.
I tend to doubt it but it would be nice. Actually, I don't think it would matter much either. It seems that the market is waiting to see stuff hit the bottom line before believing in a positive outlook. Until then the share price might be floundering. As we know, the company is conservative with guidance until deals are written in stone. I have been patiently waiting but it is getting tougher to do. Unfortunately, I have a feeling we still have to wait awhile. I am still averaging down.
Well, I have never done that one before. What I usually do is accidently put in a buy order instead of a sell on a stock and end up increasing my holdings rather than decreasing.
Thanks for sharing. You are not the only one challenged at placing orders.
I don't necessarily think the acquisition is a bad thing but it isn't a slam dunk either. The PCB (printed circuit board) business is a highly competitive one. Sometimes it is better to farm out such work. Someone mentioned that they were not buying a customer list, but they did mention that the CDR customer list was a factor in choosing this PCB company. I guess customers are not beating down KTCC's doors as they made it seem. I have a wait and see attitude about it.
