Either Bloomberg or MSNBC mentioned there was a rumor about a takeover but they said nothing could be confirmed. So, for now, it's just rumor. Could have caused the spike.
Read the details of all reports under Tyson and you will find the reference to Seaboard (SEB) which, ironically, is the only poultry stock UP today. SEB had cases of infection per the report.
Up if infected flock found: SEB
Down if not found: TSN SAFM PPC etc.
