NAOMIE - u WERE A bad pirate BACK IN THE DAY.......You and I both evidently bot QSC at $0.80, but You are not the Long Term Holder though, correct?........You and I were duking it out a one point when you were pushing the PPS as a short to fall and it did, you were right.........I sat still many times on the rollercoaster ride of QCOR, while I think you were one of those traitors.....or traders ; )
BUT my question to you is HOW long did you hold QSC from $0.80 and when was your last SELL of QCOR or MNK or did you even hold thru the merger or were you short at the time? ......... Have you experienced over 1,899% return on starting at the $0.80/share of QSC and then from QSC/QCOR/MNK to $130 MNK?
anyone else to the point in tax return preparation to feel the pain we all knew was coming from the QCOR/MNK merger from a U.S. Federal and State tax standpoint?........I'm just glad that 65% of my QCOR shs were held in my 401(k)......It's also nice to know as of close Friday that MNK has gone up 86.9% since merger (just over 7 months); value increase being right at double the combined Federal/State tax rate I'm having to pay this year.....
Yes, I was not happy initially when 100% taxation from merger was announced (my very low total cost basis would eat up most of the $30 cash/sh), but the MNK PPS action is helping to ease the pain that is still difficult to see the size of the checks I will have to write to the U. S. Department of Treasury and State of Mississippi, but I am blessed with this opportunity God has given me, and I will do my best to be the steward with this and everything else He has given me while temporarily here on this Earth. PTL!
AND Just a reminder........$86.08 was a calc at 4/4/2014........at the merger on 8/14/2014 the value was $93.58 ($30.00 Cash/QCOR sh + 0.897 MNK shs/QCOR sh @ $70.88 = $63.58)...That was 38% ABOVE the QCOR 4/14/2014 close...
Considering Today's MNK $134.26 high So Far, the VALUE is $150.43; and IF you want to add QCOR divys paid (Dec 2012 - June 2014) of $2.10, you get $152.53......WELL OVER DOUBLE THE QCOR 4/4/2014 CLOSE!
Hahaha.......remInds me of my 3/14/2007 anniversary of my first purchase of QSC @ $0.80/sh (Later known as QCOR and now MNK)
the comparable to Old QCOR which would have hit over $140 QCOR PPS
MNK High PPS $123.96 x .897 shs of QCOR converted to MNK shs = $111.19 + $30.00 Cash rec'd in Aug 2014 = $141.19, then add the cash divys rec'd as well if you were holding at that time (Dec 2012 - June 2014) was total $2.10 = $143.29
Boy U R wrong - MNK being a foreign entity IS what denied QCOR from structuring the sale where only the cash received would be the only taxable portion.......
VA - I agree it has set me free from a financial burden, and I recognize this relief is a gift given to me, so I am trying to plan some for self but also sharing what God has allowed me to have. But the better story is the freedom to live .............. on this earth as well as for eternity, our Creator has made a way for us to truly live when we really know Him intimately and also the opportunity to have a life in eternity with Him as The Holy Bible has captured scriptures I believe to be divinely written by men with our Creator's guidance.
NOPE not selling and correct NYJ more to come, Holding Long and Strong....may have some of daughter's 543 shares sold later in year to finish paying PT tuition and living exps for the past 3 yrs earning her doctorate.....my son already earned his doctorate in PT last May and he had already sold his back at QCOR $70.70....I don't have heart to tell him that he coulda doubled though I mentioned to him back then....he just wanted to get all his student loans paid off.....I'm looking for $125 - $140 as minimum for short term, and $180 - $200 LT......, at least for now...I used to be $125 LT...that time has arrived, but LT now looking even better at $180 - $200
