Hey, septic tank drainers at least provide a service. A necessary one if you're a hick and have a septic tank.
People who pump or 'dump' on stocks on a message board are truly useless.
It's really not good news for anybody.
Except someone looking to drive across country or those looking to buy a new hybrid car.
Or idiots really, anything is good news to them. Like wow, I filled my Hyundai up for half of what I did last summer. Life is good. No it's not, you're driving a Hyundai!
Who reads the Wall Street Journal anymore?
Further, if they cut the dividend, the only thing that will happen is I'll lose shares on the reinvesting the divy. That and a haircut on the PPS. FCX is an income play for retail holders homie. The stock only pops with a dividend cut when the company is in real trouble... see PBI, of which I made a ton of money on.
The bad news might be priced in the stock, but there is always more bad news to come. The sector won't really recover for at least 3 to 5 years.
Agreed though, I will add if we touch $17 again. I'd say, we might see the low 30's by this time next year, albeit very briefly.
Really, the only thing holding me back from buying more right now is the yield. Otherwise, if you're willing to wait it out, X is a guaranteed double at this price.
When should I look for it to recover to "18-20 PPS"?
2024? Do you even know anything about REIT's?
Why bother watching daily if you, "do not buy or sell on foolish daily news." Why not just buy BP and let it sit for a decade if you're interested in oil?
But I think the major oil players know exactly what they are doing.
Think I'm going to pick up 500 shares on Mon. Hold the same in NLY and besides the DIVY, things haven't been good.
But I like that CIM appears to never move and pays out 11%. Looks like money in the bank. We'll see.
Arch is no Enron. We've held on this long.
It's funny actually. People thinking coal is dead. It hasn't been since the Bronze Age, even before. People will believe what they want to believe.
Still waiting for my .01 dividend!
I know, that sucks! For every 100 shares of WIN you used to own, you now own 16 and as a bonus, you get 3 shares of CS&L. Sounds like a great deal.
You are assuming WIN or CS&L will be able to hold the post split valuation. In this environment? Not Likely. Who is going to buy WIN at $49, with a .10 dividend? No one. Why would they? They will buy T or VZ. And who is going to buy an extremely overvalued REIT kickstarting with a relatively low payout? I own the best REIT's in the world and they are performing like #$%$. You will own your two companies. But at what cost?
Don't get me wrong, WIN has treated me well over the last couple of years, and I was excited when I first heard about the spin off. But the changes make it a #$%$ty deal now and everyone should know that.
I am selling. Am I happy about that? No.
So basically you get 20% in the REIT out of 16.5% of your current WIN position. That's horrible Brock and you know it.
I'm selling on Monday, seriously.
I bought at around $23 and than added at roughly $17.50 a couple of years ago. Recently sold half my position at around $41. So right now I have my entire position in X for free. It's all gravy at this point.
You might have to wait a year or 2 or more, but you'll be fine. Don't listen to the doom and gloom people. X pops and drops like crazy, you'll see that more now that you're following it.
Just buy what you can afford and let it sit. Then sell when you double your money or when you feel comfortable. In a couple of years, you'll be me :).
But remember, the worst thing you can do is to fall in love with a stock like X based on the past. Those days are gone forever.
Who wants it anyway? I wouldn't buy a share of NOK for anything more than $2 dollars a share.
ALU is at least a $10 dollar a share company in 2 to 5 years... hopefully.
I've been trading ALU for years. Made a lot of cash off this POS., Do I come to a message board to brag about it. Hell no. If I'm rich, the less people who know that, the better. :)
You and everyone else. I loaded up at $1.83 and have BEEN HAPPY since, anything else is gravy. My original out price was $6, hopefully we get there. If not, a buyout around 5 is fine. But no way I'm holding NOK stock ever. Terrible company. Worse than ALU actually!
