Of course the phones are getting good reviews, and it should be obvious to anyone who actually does any DD, that the people who really touch, feel and use these phones say they are the BEST. Now think about history and installed base. Do you REALLY think people who have waited this long with their BB phones are not going to examine the new phone????
And what do you think they will conclude when they realize it does virtually EVERYTHING better, faster and EASIER? I know, they then go and buy an inferior phone. Oh ya, sure. People are getting fooled here by analysts who stare at charts, old projections etc etc. They do NOT HAVE A CLUE about what happens when game changing technology gets out there in volume. Here you have the perfect set up, BECAUSE they ALREADY have the installed base, which most new technologies do not have and wish to establish. Think before you sell, when it actually looks like a screaming buy, when you actually think about it and do some DD.

Hilarious. The guy says, he is not updating his Blackberry! Complete nonsense, think about it. Why would someone who currently has a Blackberry and has not converted to something else, now not buy the best phone by far in EVERY WAY. Not just a few things. Multi task, faster, auto translate language on the go, better construction, better screen, better EVERYTHING. So ask, why would ANY BLACKBERRY user buy anything else????

That is not the point, what Apple cash position is. RIM has cash and no debt with a cap that is going to grow now. RIM is hot and Apple is resting on yesterdays technology. Blackberry runs circles around Apple phones. Think people are not going to buy Blackberry, when Apple and Samsung are years away from anything that matches this technology??? Are you still using your Motorola phone???

Not how I see it. You folks are far too fixated on the show and not on the reality of the technology. Every Blackberry user is going to want one, and many current users of other phones will too. Why? Because it is better. If there is one thing I have learned over the last years is that when you get a leap in technology that is Consumer friendly it gets bought. Especially when you have an installed base already, waiting. Put it another way. Does anybody really think that current users are not going to want this new phone???? Does anybody really think many others will buy it??? So if you think the CEO is the main thing, in so far as his presentation skills, you are missing the whole point. Today you have some big trading from folks who bought on the buildup. Over the next weeks, the reality of this better phone will become oh so evident. And nothing anybody can change on that front. Its fantastic phone.

You act as though, because somebody makes an offer, that that is the end of it, when in fact that is far from the reality. The big shareholders here did not buy into this to make a few cents and are knowledgeable regarding potential and assets here. You seem to imply they do not see what you see. I think it is the complete opposite of your hypothesis. If somebody make a low offer, it will not fly, but the stock price will move up immediately from the recognition of value and potential. Do not forget, that either there is little hangover of stock for sale, or a huge naked short position. Where are the shares to either cover, or sell into the market, whichever the case turns out to be. This is going higher folks, and those that get shaken out this year are fools, in my opinion. This IS the year to buy and hold a core position. Nobody is going to get this cheap, the shares are going higher.IMO

Can Cabo be used off label for prostate cancer?

    by weightbayou Jan 26, 2013 6:47 PM
buysignalinvestments buysignalinvestments Jan 26, 2013 8:02 PM Flag

The answer is, yes it can be used, off label. Will it be? If you are going to die and there is nothing available that works like this appears to, what would you do, if you are informed about this product? This is a new age, where patients can press doctors to answer questions about possible information beneficial to them, and seemingly not considered. Every shareholder should spread the word to patients and/or related people connected to anyone, in any way regarding CABO results, for METS. Believe me, Prostate Cancer patients will be interested.
Anyone who thinks they will not be, is simply daft. One thing we see today is just how fast information can spread through the internet web sights.

As I repeat. ALL the indicators have and are pointing to CABO as a huge "Franchise" So forget whether anyone likes or dislikes me or any poster for that matter, focus on exactly what it means IF CABO is in fact just that. Say it is indicated for between 5 and 12 Cancer applications, among which are some, if not the biggest, in potential application. How much do any of you think EXEL is worth then? They OWN 100% of CABO ( some say 98-99) but in any case they own it. Seriously folks, THIS IS WHY you own some of this, and depending on your risk/reward profile you go big or small. But take a guess at the cap on this company if it pans out, not even to speak of all the other stuff on the go here. My take, well over 10 billion dollar cap, and possibly, yes 50 Billion, if it ALL went well and it was used in almost all major Cancers. How many times the current price would that be? 10 to 50 times, or even more. Hard to grasp how big that would be possibly: its a moon shot if it all proves up. That is a FACT. If you do not see that, check out the cap on some companies where they have just one blockbuster drug, used in only one or two applications.

I know, they are like me, who some say that I am actually a short here, although, ALL I ever post is my view that this is going way, way, way higher over the next year or two. If I use the convoluted theories of some here, who will conclude that they own 6.5% because they are short and think the price is going down! ROFLMAO
Its simple folks, the clock is ticking and this is going higher regardless of any hedge fund, shorts or volatility. Why? Its a multi billion dollar biotech coming on with multiple products. They are cash rich, with lots of partners and deals. Certainly more to come. If not bought out very soon, in my opinion, it gets buy out offers for $7 to $12 range, depending how soon the offers are made. I doubt anyone actually has a chance of acquisition, however, for less than $15 at this time, as there will be instant competition if anybody takes a run at this. The price has been held down and manipulated heavily, IMO, and its only a matter of time for breakout. Funny thing is, manipulators and any shorts have done accumulators a HUGE favor. Works for me too!
Get positioned: IMO time might be very short now till this gaps up.

Why anybody would "jump off" now, just when its getting interesting is beyond me. I may be over enthusiastic, but based on what is going on, partners/deals, potential, trials, selling started on approved drug just a day ago, the cash in the till, and this next year to 2 years being without a doubt the most exciting time ever here, anybody other than short term traders would seem to me daft to leave now. But each to their own. I would not sell a share regardless of whatever volatility takes place at this time. This, in my opinion heads to double digits probably before year end. Sooner at the least sniff of a takeover bid. Downside very small, upside huge.

I do not agree with your last little story at all. First, you compare a product which a guy invents, but is never for sale, with products here that are for sale. Next you act as though "big pharma" are all in it together. They are actually in severe competition with each other. The truth is very simple here. There appears to be some manipulations, I agree, but the outcome will differ hugely, from your little story, as the products are now coming on stream and many more in the pipeline. As well, this is a public company, so anyone can jump in, at any time and buy. If you are so nervous, and do not see a bright future here, which I do, then sell. There are all kinds of other companies. I see the story unfolding completely differently.
Some play, frustrate folks like you into capitulation, just like happened at HGSI, then the price either trends up or explodes up. Timing: could be at any time or a bit protracted, but for sure we get some action this year. Play it anyway you like, but I say, accumulate, ignore being frustrated by putting yourself in the position of being so. Learn to love their games, an profit from them. IF you want to trade this, I see it as a sort of slow rhythmic trade. You buy when it is between 4 and $4.50 or so, and just wait. Does it take minutes, days or a few weeks to rise? Do not know, but look at chart, if a trader. Never in ten years has it not gone above $6. Look at cycle. Now. I have the big core, and will wait. If they drop it down sharply one day to lower end of the range I just mentioned, I will buy and wait and sell it back to them. That is my take and for long term investors. This is not a wind shield wiper story, its a great biotech story unfolding. Do not get fooled by the short term volatility, the CABO Franchise and lots of other stuff is worth billions within a very reasonable time frame..IMO

This is the beginning. Now we shall see over the next while, just how big sales get, and what "Off Label" use happens. If I had METS, with nothing else available that does anything, I would be looking to my doctor and asking if I could use this drug. Why wouldn't you. Just give it a little time before the word spreads. Remember: fatal outcomes have a way of making people ask for something that appears to work. Think the informed are going to wait???

The point of mentioning various agreements, partners, deals and potential is very simple. Many are coming to EXEL only aware of their one product (CABO the approved product and its expanding Franchise)and primary focus. Just the other day we got the following announcement, which is just one of MANY potential developments with a variety of partners. I can't say which ones will lead to anything, but the estimated potential of these "other deals/partnerships" to EXEL is large. I am not here to nit pick, nor do I claim to know which ones will lead to what, but certainly it is VERY hard to argue there is not large potential in some of these. How big, is like all development biotech situations, open to speculation, but in this case the potentials are large in total and measured it seem in billions of dollars. That is a FACT. Everyone can draw their own conclusions and opinions, but I see value added.

"On January 14, 2013, Exelixis, Inc. (the "Company") received notice from Genentech, Exelixis' collaborator and a member of the Roche Group, that the first patient was dosed in a phase 3 pivotal trial evaluating the BRAF inhibitor Zelboraf´┐Ż (vemurafenib) alone and in combination with GDC-0973 (XL518, RG7421) in previously untreated patients with malignant melanoma and the BRAF V600 mutation (the "Dosing Notice"). The trial is being conducted by Roche and Genentech. Exelixis discovered GDC-0973 internally and advanced the compound to investigational new drug (IND) status before entering into a worldwide co-development agreement with Genentech in late 2006. Exelixis was responsible for the development of GDC-0973 through the end of phase 1, at which point Genentech exercised its option to further develop the compound.

Exelixis' receipt of the Dosing Notice triggers the beginning of the 12 month period in which Exelixis can exercise its option to co-promote GDC-0973 in the United States under the terms of Exelixis' agreement with Genentech."

What value does this have by itself???

I have been unable to find anything from BMY, but I did send them an inquiry regarding what is going on with it. It is just one, as you know, of many deals floating out there, which could generate large revenue, news or developments at any time. The point being, although the focus is now on CABO and the expanded use, there is a great deal of other stuff as well. This (BMY TGR5/XL475 deal) just being one example.

Just a note for the detail conscious, and those looking to tell me to get my facts straight. I notice that I said, regarding 10 year pattern, that I expected stock to trade in 8 to 10 range this year. But it may have been confusing with respect to the 10 year pattern. That pattern shows that EXEL has traded without exception above $6. Not in the 8 to 10 range I expect will occur. In my opinion, of course. But the greater than $6 is a FACT, with respect to past 10 years. Check it out, if in doubt.
