I think management felt that they needed a short term catalyst to keep the forward momentum going. Whether it's a good idea or not can be debated , but it's a tried & true management tool when other options are not really credible at this point. So for me the question remains at what price should I jetitison my shares & lock in profits. I think SPR is in the sweet spot of a booming industry. It seems that every country in the world wants to have their own airlines & orders still keep coming. I'm pretty sure that Spirit is looking for more space to increase product & that when it happens should also stir the pot. For the present though it's always a good bet that buying back stock will be a positive for the stock' price.
I agree, BPL is an investment. My pops bought this stock back in the day & I inherited BPL after he passed away some years ago. As far as trading this stock goes it seems to me that when "investors" complain about manipulating happening they might use BPL as a prototype. I'm always fascinated how BPL can jump a buck or two with no particular news on a daily basis. Jumping either way it seems. Sooo an"investor" who has a great deal of shares can feed them into the stock & I believe ,control the price to a degree. Just my opinion of course. On the other hand if one were able to master the pattern & jump on board they could be handsomely rewarded!
Wow, what a sad state of affairs to read this board. There is now no doubt in my mind that the stock market has become more Vegas than Vegas. Like vultures hovering above a dying victim, today's stock "traders" hover above their apps. waiting to "invest" one way or another in a stock on the move. With "investors " of this quality who can doubt that when we enter a market draught these "investors" will head for Vegas where, of course, they shoulda been from the get go. I bet that a full 90% are in the red. As "traders"! What the hell did I send Ya ta college fer? Get a real job, knucklehead!
Hi Jack, sup? I cannot lie Jack, I'm still holding SPR. And yes I have seen quite a few tidbits written about SPR & their future prospects. I did pull my stop at 54.40 & yes SPR may yet continue its upward trend. With all the competition in the FEYE arena it will be imperative that each quarters performance show continuing upward momentum. Players in that arena will be tossed if they don't clear the bar with room to spare. I believe FEYE has that ability. BTW do you own any SPR or do you just like to stay abreast of the industry?
