I got another call today, asking me to vote my shares. it seems like I had already voted yes twice, including a previous phone call, so I didn't try for a third vote.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
At the time, I knew that Bush and Cheney were putting out a lie that put a lot of pressure on members of Congress from both parties. The only information I had for that opinion was the statements of our weapons inspectors in Iraq. I was sure it was a lie.
Craig did not lie. Millions of people couldn't afford it before, and now will get Government subsidies to help them pay for the insurance, or even pay all the cost. I've talked to elderly people who only took a fraction of their prescribed medicine, like one-third, because they would have no money to buy food if they bought all the medicine they needed. Obamacare will go down in history as landmark legislation that brought U.S. healthcare up to par so it compares with healthcare in other major countries in the World.
And the House approved funding for Obamacare. That's why Obamacare is open for business today, while the Republicans have shut down much of the rest of the Government.
Apparently Liberals know enough to get those Masters degrees and PHDs. ghondula, your statement is just more proof of right-wing intelligence.
Marcarcal, it's ironic a right-winger would comment on mental functions. The top 5 states for post-graduate college degrees are Massachusetts, Maryland, Connecticut, Virginia and New York. They voted for Obama. The bottom 5 states are Mississippi, Louisiana, North Dakota, West Virginia and Arkansas. They voted for Romney.
Several polls and analysis done on data from presidential elections dating back at least a decade show that the higher the education level, the more likely [voters] are to vote Democratic.
An example is CNN’s 2008 national election exit poll of almost 18,000 people, 44 percent identified as college graduates. Of those college graduates, Obama had an 8 percentage point advantage over then-Republican presidential nominee John McCain. Of voters with a postgraduate degree, Obama had an 18-point advantage over McCain.
A recent poll from the Media and Public Opinion Research Group found that 43.5 percent of College graduates with a Bachelors degree vote Democrat, compared to 30 percent who vote Republican.
There is nothing to negotiate. The Republicans lost their fight against Obamacare. It was passed by Congress and upheld by the Supreme Court. Now, President Obama can't allow Republicans to nullify that legislation by using a Government shutdown as blackmail. It would be crazy for him to negotiate. The only way to stop Obamacare is for Congress to vote against it, and that will never happen.
