Fred, it was very disappointing to see Democrats vote to go to war, considering that there was plenty of information available showing that Bush and Cheney were lying when they said Iraq was trying to develop nuclear weapons. I'm not defending Saddam Hussein (what a sorry person he was!) and not denying that he murdered so many people with poison gas. I'm just pointing out that he had destroyed his weapons, but didn't want enemies to know that because he feared attack. The main way Bush and Cheney got support for war was to claim we were at danger from attack, and we certainly were not. Hussein didn't harbor terrorists.....he feared them. You should know that. If you want to argue with me, provide some evidence that Hussein did not destroy his weapons, and that he was trying to develop nuclear weapons. And tell me what our forces found after invading Iraq.

"They are wanting the ability to issue more shares to finance future deals."
Exactly. That's why I voted yes. If I didn't want PSEC to make more income I would have voted no.

I could believe Condi Rice said that, considering her other statements

I said I talked to both Presidents Bush......I didn't say that I tried to be friends with them (although I do like George HW Bush, but that had nothing to do with me talking to him). What do you mean, two-faced? They both were well aware that because I talked with them didn't mean I wouldn't be critical of them. That's just the way politics works. You would do better to limit your comments to subjects where you have some knowledge.

Interesting that you would say "slum it". Do you think that would hold up in court as obligating you to a $20,000 bet? I didn't think so. Anyway, I talked to George HW Bush in St. Louis while he was running for President. Part of that conversation was on the news at KTVI-TV (Now Fox-2 TV) in St. Louis. Later in Detroit I went to the GOP National Convention and I talked to Bush again and told him it looked like Ronald Reagan had the Nomination wrapped up. Part of that conversation was broadcast on KSAT-TV in San Antonio.
I talked to his son, George W. Bush, at a prison construction site when he was running for Governor of Texas and a KBMT-TV news crew was covering Bush's appearance. I talked to W. Bush again at a school. Now, if you come up with a way to make an iron-clad bet that you can't weasel out of, I think I can find witnesses who saw those newscasts or put them on the air, or saw me talking to Bush at the school.

I would have to sell some stock to come up with $100,000 in cash. But I could take $20,000 out of my checking account and that bet would make it worth my time to track down witnesses who saw me talking to both Bush's.

durrett, why don't we each put up ten thousand dollars, to be held by a reliable referee to judge if I have talked to W. Bush and his father, and the one who is correct gets to take all the money? A word of warning.......you right-wingers are usually wrong.

What's the matter, fred, don't you have any intelligent comments to add to the discussion? I've talked to GW Bush a couple of times, and a class act he is NOT. His wife is the class act of that family (from what I have read).
