Good points. Will be looking for the entry.
Massive double top is in.
We are at levels where investors have always refused to buy and hold the stock which has led to 2 previous multi-month significant corrections in TSLA. That plus the technicals are pointing to very high risk for longs here with a sustained down move very possible.
Just an FYI.
What a gift we were all given today by the Chinese and a bandwagon analyst who is also using the weakness so his buddies can get long.
Its so obvious.
Sanjay Jha, the former COO of Quallcom, wants to be fully vertically integrated again and AMD is the last piece in the puzzle.
:GLOBALFOUNDRIES Completes Acquisition of IBM Microelectronics Business
" With the acquisition, GLOBALFOUNDRIES gains differentiated technologies to enhance its product offerings in key growth markets, from mobility and Internet of Things (IoT) to Big Data and high-performance computing. The deal strengthens the company’s workforce, adding decades of experience and expertise in semiconductor development, device expertise, design, and manufacturing. And the addition of more than 16,000 patents and applications makes GLOBALFOUNDRIES the holder of one of the largest semiconductor patent portfolios in the world.
“Today we have significantly enhanced our technology development capabilities and reinforce our long-term commitment to investing in R&D for technology leadership,” saidSanjay Jha, chief executive officer of GLOBALFOUNDRIES. “We have added world-class technologists and differentiated technologies, such as RF and ASIC, to meet our customers’ needs and accelerate our progress toward becoming a foundry powerhouse.”:
You need to realize that AMD is already essentially priced for failure and is worth more than this just for its patents alone and if things even slightly begin to turn around in the upcoming forecast, AMD can quickly double. Then as we near ZEN launch AMD can easily do a couple of more doubles.
Any shorts still holding on here at 2.5 are simply amateurs and can get wiped out by any number of developments. The easy meat on the downside has long been taken on this one and now the profit opportunity lies on the long side.
"Much More Performance Than We Thought
Hell. I did not expect the Radeon R9 Fury X cards in CrossFire to scale this well with relatively early drivers. I was more than blown away as the resolution increases, and when we get to 4K, you're going to be quite excited by these results. I seriously cannot wait to get a third, and fourth card into my system for some serious testing on single monitor resolutions, and EyeFinity."
This is why AMD sought outside consultants (due diligence) and also why the CEO talked about public vs private....because its on her mind.......similar to a freudean slip...you might say.
She's letting us all know that even in a buyout she has big plans to create a brand new AMD legacy over the next five years as its CEO as a public or as a private subsidiary of Microsoft.
Someone also just covered 1.6 million in July puts recently. Greatly reducing the OI at the 2.5 strike. Maybe once they covered their puts they then went long.
They crunched the stock down to 2.30 and then sold their puts to reduce their short position. That particular short did not want the extra 1.6 million worth of losses that could come.
Calls are still being added though.
Why after years and years of not clarifying, would AMD's CFO go out of his way recently to not only comment on the transferability of the x86 license but also comment a second time to provide an update to clarify that ANY company can purchase AMD entirely and instantly Intel would no longer have license to use not only AMD's x64 instructions but many other AMD patents that Intel needs to make its microprocessors?
With the practical result that in the event of a buyout, the cross licensing will simply be reaffirmed by both parties with business continuing as usual.
Why is he suddenly commenting and clarifying that AMD can be bought without an x86 issue?
Zacks came out pumping AMBA on June 15th and that sucked in the final longs who are now all permanent bagholders.
