  • Please be careful, every day AT&T trades away from New High, it is creating a Technical Overhead Supply.
This message board has very few serious investors or traders now.
    Good Luck!
    Sincerely,
    Carolyn Novice

  • Over extended and needs rest in this area for consolidation.
    OBV = On Balance Volume
Volume at 10:55am is 5.5 million which is high and confirms bullish trend.
    Price X Volume = Momentum
We have some short covering and next month dividend related buying.
With interest rate low over 2016-2017, T offers a better investment for retirement.
    Good Luck!

  • We will know the Spectrum auction results soon.
Besides land holdings, Ocean floor drilling rights and Spectrum auctions bring lot of wealth to the Federal government.

AT&T Spectrum holding and usage will provide stockholders returns for years to come.

    Why the huge selloff today?

Last Friday it closed at $38.36. This normal weekend profit taking by traders. After making new high, it is called consolidation. Which means stop loss orders and option expiration play big role in stocks movement.

Remember next month is big dividend and time for distance runners to take breath and refresh for next leg up.
Volume is very good and confirms the bullish trend.

Please stop worrying about AT&T and start worrying about the coming election and interest rates.

    Good luck!
    Sincerely,
    Carolyn Novice

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • Volume is more than 35 million. Being down makes it heavy resistance above $38.60 - $39.25.

We may not see a new high anytime soon. How much was options we will know next week.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Good luck!
    Sincerely,
    Carolyn Novice

When a stock makes a new high at that time there were no sellers and lot of buyers, so stock made a new high. Now there is no follow through and stocks takes a back step down and fills the buy orders. If there is less buyers at that price stock will slide away from New High.

You can download from historical data and calculate the volume of over head supply above $39, $38.75..,,

Everyday AT&T is moving towards the opposite direction, the yesterday's buyers are losers, holding to borek even or sell on future rallies.

There are about 75 New highs today out of more than 3300 stocks traded.

We are range bound and not in a bullish phase of the market.

Please have an order mental stop where you feel you should take action.

I am very busy trading and you have to your homework, ask with 20 million shares traded, who is selling, and why?

Telecommunications have come long way, now Facebook, Google are all joining Wireless.

    Good luck!

I do not own AT&T. Now, I am a trader.

I have Visa and MRK and will trade them soon.

Market is a barometer and not thermometer, it tells what will happen, Visa has better future due to pent up demand.

We are closer to 37.12 and ….

    New Highs & lows

During A Major Bull movement, it is normal to see stock after stock push out of their established patterns and rise to new highs for the year. If the upward momentum continues, those stocks, which recorded new highs, will continue to rise, and they will be joined by fresh “breakouts” which will also augment the “new high parade.”

But when a bull movement shows a steady decrease in the number of new highs, it is a sign that the original rallying strength is ebbing. Such a market, regardless of temporary rallies or confusing fluctuations, may be said to be “living on borrowed time.” It is axiomatic that diminishing strength during a market advance will gradually turn into increasing weakness. By the same token, decreasing weakness during a market decline will materialize into a growing strength

Please keep an eye on New highs on NYSE and
Dow and S&P 500 are far from making new highs, the advance line and new high list is doubtful, but if AT&T makes a New High, it is giving a bullish signal.

    Good luck!

    Sincerely,
    Carolyn Novice

Want to trade successfully? Just choose the good positions and avoid the bad ones. Poor trade selection takes a heavy toll as it bleeds your confidence and wallet. You face many crossroads during each market day. Without a system of discipline for your decision-making, impulse and emotion will undermine skills as you chase the wrong stocks at the worst times.

Technical Analysis teaches traders to execute positions based on numbers, time and volume. This discipline forces traders to distance themselves from reckless gambling behavior. Through detached execution and solid risk management, short-term trading finally "works".

Markets echo similar patterns over and over again. The science of trend allows you to build systematic rules to play these repeating formations and avoid the chase:

    1. Forget the news, remember the chart. You're not smart enough to know how news will affect price. The chart already knows the news is coming.

    20. Beat the crowd in and out the door. You have to take their money before they take yours, period.

Israeli president says he is ready to start negotiations but insists his Palestinian counterpart does not back the idea.
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu said he is immediately ready to begin talks for a two-state solution - but claimed his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, is not.
Netanyahu made the comments at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference via satellite from Jerusalem on Tuesday.
AIPAC is a pro-Israel lobbying group in Washington, DC where the event is taking place.
"I am willing to begin negotiations immediately, without preconditions. Anytime, anywhere," Netanyahu said.
"A Security Council resolution to pressure Israel would further harden Palestinian positions, and thereby could actually kill the chances of peace for many, many years. And that is why I hope the US will maintain its long-standing position to reject such a UN resolution.
"Peace won't come through UN resolutions but through direct negotiations between the parties. The best formula for achieving peace remains two states for two peoples, in which a demilitarised Palestinian state finally recognises the Jewish state," the Israeli prime minister said.

Netanyahu came under attack by the US Democrat party candidate Bernie Sanders who said the United States should have unwavering support for Israel, but any Middle East peace solution must recognize civil rights of the Palestinian people.

In a foreign policy address in Salt Lake City during a western campaign trip, the Vermont senator criticized Netanyahu's administration for the construction of Jewish settlements in the West Bank, and withholding tax revenues from the Palestinians.

  • Option expire tomorrow and $39.50, so far is pivotal.

Volume at 10:50 am ….4.2 million which is respectable, can this trend continue, last 20 trades are individual investors. No big block above 5,000.

We are still in consolidation phase and not enough momentum to start betting for a big up move.
Not enough big buyers, most trades less promising and stock tape is slow. We still need institutional activity, which is not there yet.

    Good luck!

    Sincerely,
    Carolyn Novice

After New High the bag holders or buyers who came in late, will be locked in with stocks appreciation promise at a future date. It is after Christmas returns, sometimes we get bargains 2 at the price of one. I know some ladies they buy next Christmas gifts, but children will not like what was in demand last year.

It market you can change your bets any time in the race, no need to feel this is horse race where you must buy before the start.

With time you can feel the trend is not favorable as before.
    Good Luck!

  • Very busy with ICLR today, which has also very high volatility and high short interest.

Very heavy Volume nearly 7 million is due to Traders, buying and selling trying to finds bottom and profit taking after big run up.

Lot of institutional activity and we can watch and learn from high volatility. They sell each other with your money (mutual funds) and ask their friends to make money, for them.

Kindly Google Search, “20 GOLDEN RULES FOR TRADERS

And use it for trading learning.

Rule 1 and 20 is as below:

    20. Beat the crowd in and out the door. You have to take their money before they take yours, period.

  • T is making an up move on high volume and it is a buying opportunity.

THE GRAND STRATEGY OF STOCK TRADING

THE STOCK TELLS YOU THAT IT HAS MADE A BOTTOM OR A TOP BY SACRIFICING A POINT OR SO FOR INSURANCE.

The Most Bullish Looking Chart Patterns

All your buying for maximum profits should be concentrated on stocks having the following types of chart patterns:

    1. Long-term decline followed by a breakout …………………………T is making more than one year
    2. Flat base breakout
    3. Coming off a double bottom
    4. W Pattern
    5. Growth
    6. Cyclical at historic lows

Let us examine each of these separately:

    1. Long-term decline followed by a breakout
This pattern is mentioned first because it is capable of producing the greatest capital gains. The pattern is exactly as described, a long-term decline (the longer the better) followed by an eventual bullish reversal above a previous declining peak. The stock gains an upside impetus commensurate with the duration and extent o f the previous decline. The theory here is that the stock has been so utterly oversold that upon the first evidence of a turn for the better the stock will advance at a greater rate than it previously declined

    6. Cyclical at Historic Lows
This pattern is listed last because it contains the greatest degree of risk, a risk that can only be minimized by an expert judgment of timing factors. If the timing is right, the gains can be very great.

For best results the six key patterns must be geared to the market
Newton would have been fascinated with the stock market as it exists today because he undoubtedly would have enjoyed watching his famous Law of Gravity at work on security prices.

In the past 5 years it has topped around $38…$38.50, This time volume is favorable, and we can expect it to stall around $37.50 -$38.50 for bigger profit taking and consolidation. Let us see if the volume exceed 30 million today.

With more than 5% dividend yield, the reward ratio is very good and even if the stock remains in these levels, we will all do better than majority of the investors.

    Good Luck!
