" The data indicate that the opportunity to learn from complex stimuli and events are vital early in life, and that success in school begins in infancy." Dr. Patricia K. Kuhl

Early Language Learning and Literacy: Neuroscience
    Implications for Education
    Patricia K. Kuhl
Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences

The last decade has produced an explosion in neuroscience research examining young children’s early processing of language that has implications for education. Noninvasive, safe functional brain measurements have now been proven feasible for use with children starting at birth. In the arena of language, the neural signatures of learning can be documented at a remarkably early point in development, and these early measures predict performance in children’s language and prereading abilities in the second, third, and fifth year of life, a finding with theoretical and educational import. There is evidence that children’s early mastery of language requires learning in a social context, and this finding also has important implications for education. Evidence relating socio-economic status (SES) to brain function for language suggests that SES should be considered a proxy for the opportunity to learn and that the complexity of language input is a significant factor in developing brain areas related to language. The data indicate that the opportunity to learn from complex stimuli and events are vital early in life, and that success in school begins in infancy.

FTC was INVESTIGATING John Doerr and what did happen to the investigation under Obama? casp321@yahoo

As Lohn Doerr, original investor in Google once said: "smart ones wanting to remain in stealth mode for a long, long time"

    August 3, 2009
---Google CEO and Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt resigned from Apple's board of directors Monday -August 3, 2009], citing conflicts of interest

    August 4, 2009
    ---ON2 & Google "merger" announcement on August 4, 2009

    August 2009
---ON2 shareholders filed different lawsuit against Google and ON2 BOD

    From September to December 2009
---Numder of Google and Youtube Execs, including Google China President departed from Google in fear of being dragged into the ON2 shareholders lawsuit. I believe their regignation/departure Google around this time frame were related to ON2 SCAM they had involved in China, USA, Finland, UK, Germany ... "smart ones" in ON2 case could not stay in "stealth mode for a long" and had to get out on their HIDING and run away before being "HUNTED" by ON2's legal team. JMHO casp321.

Obama returns to Silicon Valley — and Yahoo CEO’s home — for May 8 fundraising

Posted on Friday, April 11 [2014]at 2:50pm | By Carla Marinucci

President Obama returns to Silicon Valley on May 8 for two high end fundraisers, including a stop at the Palo Alto home of Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, the Chronicle has learned.

Mayer and husband Zachary Bogue’s cozy home — complete with custom movie theatre — in an upscale Palo Alto neighborhood appears to be a favorite of the President.

He hit the same location in October 2010 for another big party fundraiser.

Obama’s Palo Alto fundraiser: Giants-Phillies updates, autograph-signing, (VIDEO) and custom screening room?

Posted on Thursday, October 21 [2010]at 7:20pm | By cmarinucci

There were regular Giants-Phillies playoff game updates — and plenty of up-close-and-personal moments with President Barack Obama –for the 50 or so $30,000-a-head donors who were guests at Google executive Marissa Mayer’s exclusive DNC fundraiser Thursday.

UPDATE — President Obama, just wrapping up his Palo Alto fundraiser, headed out to the street to talk to the folks waiting outside, where he greeted kids and signed autographs.

Obama entered through the kitchen to be greeted with warm applause and standing ovation from the crowd in the adjoining dining room; they included Democratic fundraiser and Silicon Valley insider Wade Randlett.

The 21th Jean-Louis Signoret Neuropsychology Prize of the Fondation Ipsen has been awarded to Cathy Price (University College London, London, UK)

Paris (France), 4 December 2012 – The international jury under the presidency of Prof. Albert Galaburda (Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA) awarded on November 27th, 2012 the 21th Jean-Louis Signoret Neuropsychology Prize of the Fondation Ipsen (20.000#$%$) to Cathy Prize (University College London, London, UK). Her work played a major role in the understanding of the neurological substratum of writing and reading.

Over the last 150 years, our understanding of the neural basis of reading and writing has emerged from studies of neurologically impaired patients and functional imaging studies of healthy skilled readers.

Cathy Price’s university training was in Physiology and Psychology. Her PhD was in cognitive neuropsychology and focused on the behavioural assessment of patients with agnosia and dyslexia and her postdoctoral training was in positron emission tomography and its application to the functional anatomy of language. Since 1997, she has been funded by the Wellcome Trust to build a functional anatomical model of language that explains both skilled and functionally impaired language skills. Her future aim is to provide a clinical tool to predict speech and language recovery after stroke on the basis of structural brain scans.

About the Jean-Louis Signoret Neuropsychology Prize
Launched in 1992, this prize has been awarded by the Fondation Ipsen to many renowned specialists: Eric Kandel (1992), Jacques Paillard (1993), Rodolfo Llinas (1994), Stephen Kosslyn (1995), Alfonso Caramazza (1996), Jean-Pierre Changeux (1997), Edoardo Bisiach (1998), Joseph LeDoux (1999), Joaquin Fuster (2000), Stanislas Dehaene (2001), Deepak Pandya (2002), Uta Frith (2003), Hanna and Antonio Damasio (2004), Marc Jeannerod (2005), Faraneh Vargha-Khadem (2006), Alvaro Pascual Leone (2007), Elizabeth Warrington (2008), Pierre Maquet (2009) and Giacomo Rizzolati (2010) and Patricia Kuhl (2011).

Why did Google China President resign in September 2009, after On2 shareholders filing several lawsuits against Google taking On2 over? Why did Russian suddenly became INTERESTED in "evalulating" On2's VP8 vs H.264? Why did those once worked with Google's Street-View who was called 'hacker-God' went to Google, as they said "mecca" to visit their "Christian-accountant" not jew or mosilim accountant? casp321@yahoo

Why did Russian evaluate On2 VP8 vs H.264 at the time of On2 shareholders were fighting with On2-steal against Google in the court? Was it coincidental or Russian were doing favour for Google to undermine the value of On2+Hantro+VP8 to let them JUSTIFY Google STEALING On2 with much cheaper price? Why Russian did not evaluate previous On2's products but suddenly became INTERESTD in evaluating On2 VP8 against H.264, the same way StreamingMedia did with VP6, after Google taking On2-Hantro over? What Russian were getting out of all of these? casp321

Why Would Google hire the BEST NSA EXPERT to defend the "settled" On2 vs Google case when a lead On2 plaintiff with 100-On2-share tried to several On2 lawsuits-in-ONE in October 2009? a few days after On2 shareholders accounts were HACKED in the same months and the real identities of those account holders were DISPLAYED insted of their "handles?" casp321@yahoo

Here are the reasons: You see the MAGNITUDE of people and companies involved in the "merger" SCAM:

John Doerr, Pete Wendell, Jihn Kent Walker, Bill Hambrecht, Tim Armstrong, Paul Pelosi, Eric Schmidt, Marc Cuban, Bill Campbell, Scott Cook, Tom Weigman (from Intuit and On2 BOD untill 2010), Bill Joll, Matt frost, Paul Wilkin, Jim Bankoski, Jef Weiner, Mike Kopetski, Ben Horowitz, Marc Andreessen, John Fargis, Don Harrison, some Chinese, Iranian and Indian descendant.

China Mobile, China Netcom, China Netease, and few other chinese companies, Verisilicon, Sony, Adobe, Skype, Hantro, On2, Zencoder with On2 Flixcloud, Ceva from Israel, On2 UK Limited, Youtube, Google...

Here is EXAMPLE of HOW those involved in On2 theft, directly or indirectly made BILLIONs of dollars with only $12.5 million and $4 million investment in Google and Netscape. casp321@yahoo

    Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 1999, Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia Capital paid $25 million for 20% of Google—as of February 2014 Google's market capitalization stood at about $400 billion.

The firm was named after its four founding partners: Eugene Kleiner, Tom Perkins, Frank J. Caufield, and Brook Byers. Other notable members of the firm include partners John Doerr and.....

KPCB paid $4 million in 1994 for around 25% of Netscape and profited from Netscape's IPO and subsequent $4 billion acquisition by America Online.
