JW Player Hires Innovators from Google, Salesforce and Apple to Expand Leadership in Digital Video

    PR Newswire

Eric Hoffert, John Luther, and Eric Poley to bolster JW Player's online video, mobile, and advertising solutions

NEW YORK, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- JW Player, a leader in online and mobile video, today announced that it has added key industry pioneers to its executive team to further drive innovation and growth in the company's video technology solutions.

Prior to joining the team at JW Player, John Luther spent over 12 years in digital video. He was VP of Product Management at On2 Technologies, where he oversaw the company's VPx video compression technologies and Flix Cloud transcoding service. Google acquired On2 in 2010, and following the acquisition Luther managed HTML5 video technologies in the Google Chrome web browser and led the WebM open video project. The VPx video compression technology he worked on has been downloaded more than a billion times, in Flash, Skype, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Android.

  • Funny that they got On2 Flixcloud with VPx for free while those "invested" in Zencoder made millions of dollars from just one of On2's products which was half-half deal: casp321@yahoo

Former NSA director defends data collection, cloud security

Alexander also shared his enthusiasm for cloud computing.

“I think cloud computing is the way to go,” he said. Experience that the NSA has had in adopting “thin virtual cloud” networks for some purposes had convinced him this could be a good model in terms of security. He said the main criticisms he’s heard is that it might centralize data too much. But he hoped that security professionals would see the thin virtual cloud as a vision for network security in the future.

  • Here are the names, might be interesting to you bring up in the court when they try to blame you for what you think "deserve" collecting:
John Doerr, Ben Horowitz, and Marc Andreessen.

You know much better than I do, HOW they've made their billions of dollars why you should not be one of them? casp321@yahoo

  • You NEVER thought that you will have one of On2 shareholders' "shoes" running around the way you have made them to do.

I see TROUBLE here for those making billions of dollars in the name of "entrepreneures" "financial-expert" "technical-experts" under pretext of "national-securirty" and "trade-secret" while planting their agents in companies like On2 to undermine the value of the company to be held for NSA creation like Google to take it over at the "proper" time while those helping that happen making millions and hundreds of millions dollars from On2/Hantro related products all over the world. NSA herad coming late but wants to collect what he thinks is "his". casp321@yahoo

But that was just one theme Alexander took up in his keynote address at the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit here today: He’s also bullish on cloud security and spoke about some experiences the NSA has had with it. Just retired from the NSA in March, Alexander has also set up a new consultancy called IronNet Cybersecurity.

Ex-NSA Chief Will Give Bankers What They Deserve

    Wednesday, 25 Jun 2014 07:51 AM

    By Patrick Watson

General Keith Alexander, the now-retired National Security Agency (NSA) director who was once Edward Snowden's boss, hung out his consulting shingle this month. His IronNet CyberSecurity firm already has a hot prospect: the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

Alexander reportedly offered to consult with the organization on cybersecurity matters for a mere $1 million monthly fee. SIFMA thinks $600,000 is more reasonable, but either amount should keep the general comfortable in his golden years.

I have a more important question. If you are the banking industry's trade group, and you want to help your members defend their systems from hackers, why hire Keith Alexander? What will they get for their million bucks a month?

Coughing is about all Alexander can do, too. The same secrecy laws and nondisclosure agreements that bound Snowden also bind Alexander. Unless SIFMA members have both a security clearance and "need to know," he can reveal almost none of his cybersecurity knowledge. If he does it anyway, then he's no better than Snowden.

There's a third possibility, too. Maybe Keith Alexander was secretly working for the banks before he left the NSA. Now that he is safely retired, he can collect back pay for services already rendered.

Could Keith Alexander's Advice Possibly Be Worth $600K a Month?

Ex-NSA director Keith Alexander has his own consulting company: IronNet Cybersecurity Inc. His advice does not come cheap:

Alexander offered to provide advice to Sifma for $1 million a month, according to two people briefed on the talks. The asking price later dropped to $600,000, the people said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the negotiation was private.

Alexander declined to comment on the details, except to say that his firm will have contracts "in the near future."

Kenneth Bentsen, Sifma's president, said at a Bloomberg Government event yesterday in Washington that "cybersecurity is probably our number one priority" now that most regulatory changes imposed after the 2008 credit crisis have been absorbed.

SIFMA is the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. Think of how much actual security they could buy with that $600K a month. Unless he's giving them classified information.

  • One get caught "red" handed another is provided by "red" carpet to run their own way under the SHADOWY-Government created using those agents under "technologies" expert. casp321@yahoo

  • Why John Doerr and Mayer, Yahoo CEO, were giving party to Obama in their house. you know that is NOT regular one and everyone has his/her own STAKE at the risk? casp321@yahoo

    July 31, 2014
That’s a real threat. And Alexander has a strong working knowledge of cyber security. And now, he’s making real money for his efforts. As a civilian. That’s the American way.

  • Those from "intelligence" communities are trying to use the SHADOWY-Government they've created using hose agents under pretext of "entrepreneurs" "financial-expert" "technical-expert" to run underground criminal operations while sTEALING from shareholders of companies like On2-Hantro

  • According to Grayson, here quoted in press reports, “Disclosing or misusing classified information for profit is, as Mr. Alexander well knows, a felony. I question how Mr. Alexander can provide any of the services he is offering unless he discloses or misuses classified information, including extremely sensitive sources and methods.”

That may be one way of making sure you’re now being monitored by the NSA. Who knows.

  • Interesting DEVELOPMENT. What Alexander will say about those from congress using On2 products through Tim Armstrong, Hambrecht, Doerr, Andereessoen, Horowitz, Mike Kopetski when brought in front of a judge? casp321@yahoo

  • Funny that Alexander is trying o act like, Andereessen after being too may years dealing with "Arms" NOW trying to use ARMs technologies with Hantro to d Doerr and the others were doing from Obama and other USA president corners for long. casp321@yahoo

  • On2-Hantro: a MULTI-BILLION dollars company: here is why again?

You go ahead remove as many time as you can but you can nOT erase what is printed all over the world and you can nOT hide Horowitz, Andeeressen, doerr involvement in all those technologies steal from On2 shareholders: Google, Hantro, Zencoder, Skype, Flixcloud, Amazon. casp321@yahoo

Former NSA director Keith Alexander may have sold classified info for $1M per month

The biggest scandal to ever roil the National Security Agency, compliments of Edward Snowden, happened on his watch, but that hasn’t stopped retired General Keith Alexander from demanding a seven-figure technical consulting fee now that he’s a civilian.

Alexander retired from the agency last year, and his name will be forever linked to Snowden’s vast data theft. When news of his million-dollar plus consulting fee leaked, Alexander was blasted my members of Congress, one of whom blamed him for profiteering by trading secrets for cash.

More directly, Florida Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson accused Alexander Wednesday of disclosing “classified information to bank trade groups for monthly fees of up to $1,000,000.”

BRUSSELS/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - European regulators are preparing what could be a stern challenge to Google Inc's mobile software business in the coming months after a nearly four-year investigation into the company's Web search practices left rivals and European politicians dissatisfied.

Two sources with direct knowledge of the matter said that with a new antitrust chief taking over in November, European regulators are laying the groundwork for a case centered on whether Google abuses the 80 percent market share of its Android mobile operating system to promote services from maps to search.

Chinese Android OEMs Gaining, Samsung Lead May Be Waning

Jul 30, 2014 at 10:25am ET by Greg Sterling

My theory is that part of Google’s motivation to sell Motorola to Lenovo was about creating a global counterweight to Samsung, which has dominated Android sales. More recently, however, Samsung device sales have slowed.

The legion of Chinese Android handset makers is set to further pressure Samsung at the low-end of Android. On the high end, Samsung will likely see intensifying competition from Apple when the larger-screen iPhone, or phones, debut.

To make it clear, ON2 was nOT a mosque, Senegauge, Church or place for any "religious" practice to ISOLATE those that did NOT "believe" the same as those who MIRROR-IMAGEd channels for To make it clear, ON2 was nOT a mosque, Senegauge, Church or place for any "religious" practice to ISOLATE those that did NOT "believe" the same as those who MIRROR-IMAGEd channels for ON2 and Google to create PATH from bunddling those channels between goole and on2. ON2 was a public company invested by too many different investors with different believes. Why they turned a CORNER of ON2 to their "praying" ground to PREY on ON2 shareholders will be hard to investigate but it will NOT be hard to see where was that coner: New York in the USA. I'll intend to identify FOCUSE ATTENTION point in ON2 criminal case so whenever any investigator get lost, or discouraged in his/her investigating of those billionairs or the HIGHER "echelone" core in ON2 "beleiving" the same as the few Google's top EXECs to echange ON2 technical information what was through "mirror-chanels" reflected from the "blief" coming out of the few involved, to get back to that point to CONCENTRATE a few moment, like getting back to breathing slowly to "relax" to concentrate again. Later on I'll add more to the spikes of "fishBone" or rims of "Wheel-hub" to bring different pieces of the puzle in one "wheel" or "fishbone". But how to build the WHOLE image from those peices of the puzzles depends on how one will keep his/her mind ACTIVE and FOCUSED without getting distracted in paying too much attentions to different rim or spike instead of sitting at the "hub" to connect the peices one-by-one without getting lost. Here is the FOCUSE ATTENTION POINT that no one, I mean NO one, with right mind can ignore to pay attention no matter how his/her mind wander around to loose him/her wrap the case without any "logical" or meaningful results. ON2 Short Interests was more than 18 million in 2007, also in 2007 ON2 PPS was around $4 at some point. At the last months of 2008 ON2 Short Interest was around 4 million in September while the PPS was under $0.40. From October 2008 to August 5, 2009, ON2's SI dropped to under 500,000, yeas that's 500K, but still its PPS was under $0.40. How could this be possible is the question NO one in right mind and "clean" record in the legal system can miss to notice or RAISE the red flag to be INVESTIGATED. So, in "barebone" the FOCUSE ATTENTION POINT for not losing the TRACK of INVESTIGATION by DOJ, FBI, or any legal system in the USA, or for that matter in China or finland, wil be: From October 2008 to August 5, 2009, ON2's SI, around 2 million in October 2008, dropped to under 500,000, yes that's 500K, but still its PPS was kept under $0.40 on August 5, 2009. How could this be possible?

Patience does not mean to passively endure. It means to look at the end of a process. What does patience mean? It means to look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn. Impatience means to be shortsighted as to not be able to see the outcome. The lovers of God never run out of patience, for they know that time is needed for the crescent moon to become full.

poem from Rumi on Shams Tabrizi

“What can I do, Submitters to God? I do not know myself.
I am neither Christian nor Jew, neither Zoroastrian nor Muslim,
I am not from east or west, not from land or sea,
not from the shafts of nature nor from the spheres of the firmament,
not of the earth, not of water, not of air, not of fire.
I am not from the highest heaven, not from this world,
not from existence, not from being.
I am not from India, not from China, not from Bulgar, not from Saqsin,
not from the realm of the two Iraqs, not from the land of Khurasan
I am not from the world, not from beyond,
not from heaven and not from hell.
I am not from Adam, not from Eve, not from paradise and not from Ridwan.
My place is placeless, my trace is traceless,
no body, no soul, I am from the soul of souls.
I have chased out duality, lived the two worlds as one.
One I seek, one I know, one I see, one I call.
He is the first, he is the last, he is the outer, he is the inner.
Beyond “He” and “He is” I know no other.
I am drunk from the cup of love, the two worlds have escaped me.
I have no concern but carouse and rapture.
If one day in my life I spend a moment without you
from that hour and that time I would repent my life.
If one day I am given a moment in solitude with you
I will trample the two worlds underfoot and dance forever.
O Sun of Tabriz (Shams Tabrizi), I am so tipsy here in this world,
I have no tale to tell but tipsiness and rapture.”

    Rumi

Real faith is the one inside. The rest simply washes off. There is only one type of dirt that cannot be cleansed with pure water, and that is the stain of hatred and bigotry contaminating the soul. You can purify your body through abstinence and fasting, but only love will purify your heart.
