TheStreet Ratings rates New Residential Investment as a sell. Among the areas we feel are negative, one of the most important has been the company's poor growth in earnings per share.
Highlights from the ratings report include:
NEW RESIDENTIAL INV CP's earnings per share improvement from the most recent quarter was slightly positive. For the next year, the market is expecting a contraction of 22.9% in earnings ($0.76 versus $0.98).
NRZ has underperformed the S&P 500 Index, declining 6.22% from its price level of one year ago.
The gross profit margin for NEW RESIDENTIAL INV CP is currently very high, coming in at 88.95%. Regardless of NRZ's high profit margin, it has managed to decrease from the same period last year. Despite the mixed results of the gross profit margin, NRZ's net profit margin of 45.75% significantly outperformed against the industry.
Net operating cash flow has improved to $25.37 million from having none in the same quarter last year. Since the company had no net operating cash flow for the prior period, we cannot calculate a percent change in order to compare its growth rate with that of its industry average.

Did you read the news on yahoo today regarding Clf and the other coal companies.
Supply, Supply, Supply. Price going down. Too much supply. The dead cat bounce is over.
Common share holders usually end up with .00 when a company goes under. Secured debt comes before common share holders who are at the bottom of the list. Have no idea what will happen but it does look like it is going down below $5.00
Hope I am wrong but silence on managements part does not help.
looks like the dogs were wrong and the cat was correct. Next question will it go below $8.00.
Time to be buying on every dip. DD. If buying make sure you can live with a possible loss.
Many investors have lost a lot of money over the last year including this cat that sold the end of last year.
Would have lost thousands if I stayed in. IMHO I believe it may be time to start buying controlled amounts on
Every dip. Good luck to all.
It will take years for the bond rates to reach the rates being paid by utilities, R/E Reits, Some Banks etc.
If you have dividends reinvested you will average out your purchases. For the foreseeable future dividend paying stocks will do well. DD.
Most of the posters are inexperienced and they can't take the volatility in the market. Most long term investors do not pay much attention to it. Also you have shorts trying to bring the stock down. I own this stock and purchased mite today and also shares in another R/E rit WSR. Your absolutely correct regarding a market drop pulling down the good and the not so good. DD. Good Luck.
They made a mistake moving out of Miami headquarters and into Canada. But American buy Mc Donald's.

Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway initiated new positions in Charter Communication (CHTR) and Now Inc. (DNOW). Notable positions that increased during the quarter were Suncor Energy Inc. (SU) and Verizon Communications (VZ). The fund lowered its position significantly in Graham Holdings (or GHC) and slightly in ConocoPhillips (COP).
Berkshire Hathaway added to its position in Verizon Communications (VZ). The position now accounts for 0.68% of the fund’s 2Q14 portfolio—up from 0.50% in 1Q14. We reported last quarter that the position was initiated in 1Q14.
It means that the present trend is up. If pointing down the trend is down. VZ is oversold and will go higher in
September when volume increases. If Warren B. Likes VZ it's good for me. DD. Good luck
This has been a dog of a stock for quite sometime. Read the news and you will see it's not OK. A mess with their Canadian investment and others. I have never shorted a stock so I am not short. I sold my shares last
Year at a $25,000.00 loss at a much higher price in the mid 20's. Fortunately I had other gains to offset with
The loss. Because of my experience I would only buy under $10.00 a share. They have been cutting expenses for a long time and I don't know what else they can cut. It's a sad story regarding CLF. I wish you luck. DD.
If what you say is true something is wrong with you or you are a sad person to be spending your time posting

Thursday Option Activity recap:: BAC - Stock broke above $16 resistance on its largest volume since late April, after announcing a comprehensive settlement with the Justice Department. Calls traded nearly 5x the average one month volume, led by the Sept 16 calls and the Jan15 17 calls, both of which traded over 50k on the day. 30 day implied volatility rebounded from a 2 year low, rising to around 18.50 from below 17 earlier this week.
Money going into call options. That way investors control more shares and cheaper than buying shares. To be on Safe side some investors buy 2016 calls which gives the stock more time to appreciate and feel that they have a better chance to make more money rather than having a total loss. Make sure you understand Call options before you buy. DD.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
BAC should not have taken over countrywide savings and left countrywide a problem for the Gov't to figure out. I may be mistaken but I think Citi wanted countrywide and the Gov't gave it to BAC. Anyway that's the past and the future looks good for BAC and the banking community. DD.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
You definitely can and you will be rewarded. Going to new high for 2014 before year end. Great volume.
