  • No workers are being laid off at the Mesa Factory.
They continue to work around the clock to produce sapphire for Apple. If there was any late decision by Apple to Pull the plug on their plans which they've had in place since.... 2012? You would see mass layoffs from GTAT, but to this point, we have not. Full STEAM AHEAD!

Apple is being highlighted for their going green mentality and the supply chain is the next target or so they say.. Anyone with google earth can zoom in on the mesa plant and view the countless solar modules sitting on the rooftop. It must be Merlin. I wonder which one of GTAT's customers got that deal?

If Apple had decided at the last minute to cancel their plans, there would be fallout all over the place, and we would see it. The fact that supply chain checks don't reveal an uptic in sapphire ingot prices for July means absolutely nothing. GTAT sapphire shipments are not flowing out into the open market.

The fact remains that GTAT is creating sapphire for Apple in some capacity and to this point, all logic and reason suggest that it's the same reason that Apple had in mind a long time ago.

Guidance will at least be reaffirmed, and that will be a HUGE win for shareholders who have battled through all of the lies and deceit from the street.

    Johnnie,
I have been wondering the same thing as to how they think Apple's sapphire purchases from GTAT would effect anything on the open market.

But the 100,000 media outlets don't care if it's accurate or not. They just need more webclicks to boost advertising dollars.

    oh well.
    Vindication will be ours.

Maybe one of the best points I've heard.
All of the employees must be sitting around on their idle hands? Yeah right.
They are working 24/7 to create sapphire for something.
It must be something really important and big coming up soon.

    GTAT will prevail.

GTAT to $30 before the year is out.
The ride up starts within 7 days as GTAT throws out a big bone to investors in the form of guidance and so much more.

Do you think all of the 100,000 media outlets that report on Apple leaks should be criminally liable for reporting rumor as fact? Or is that different in your opinion.

    well said..

  • "So far Apple has remained mum on exactly what it is planning for the manufacturing facility it outfitted for solar power in Arizona. However, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer publicly lauded the company and its decision to relocate some of its efforts there while also using geothermal and solar power to make its devices."

The simple fact that Apple has invested so much in this factory by prepaying GTAT nearly $600 million and investing in it's power generation via solar power suggests that the Mesa factory is not a fly by night operation, and Apple's intentions with it are far reaching.

Just ask Tim Cook who can't stop grinning from ear to ear when asked about the project and the tens of thousands of jobs that will come from it.

Apple needs a big splash in an industry that has very few left, and sapphire is it.
Others like Samsung, LG, and Kyocera will follow suit into world of sapphire screens because it's superior to GG. Apple must be the first to market in order to shock and impress the world, and they will.

I have to admit, it's one of the most 'I can't believe it' things about GTAT, but it is reality.
If Hyperion truly can be one of the most effective methods of destroying cancer, then it's not worth billions: It's worth trillions.

the same rumors that pushed GTAT down will be squashed and new rumors will come out that Apple is going ALL OUT with sapphire which will drive the PPS higher for GTAT until confirmation.

I don't agree with any of your argument: Not surprisingly! haha
No offense, but when have you ever done something on this grand of scale? 10 years of experience or not.
TG has stuck with guidance for 6+ months. There's nothing wrong with reiterating. That would be a BOON to the stock price at these levels at $14. At $20 to $25 maybe a reiteration would cause a slight pull back to 18? Maybe. GTAT has 6 months to meet guidance their guidance, but as you know, there's been a lot of talk about DEFERED revenue which most likely can be attributed to revenue generated from Apple, so meeting guidance is probably not as difficult our out there as you think.

Let's not confuse the company's silence with a lack of confidence. On May 7th 2014, the CEO came out and reiterated guidance for shareholders. It's not his job to move the stock price and make day traders feel good about their play. It's his job to boost shareholder value, and that's exactly what he is doing.

Apple knows more about their supply chain logistics more than anyone, and they have shown the world that while their ambitions are HUGE, they are fully ready to make it happen. This will be the largest launch in Apple history, and it's going to happen according to schedule.

What do you really think Apple's intentions are with GTAT's Sapphire?
Tim Cook believes that the Mesa project will create an ecosystem of TENS OF THOUSANDS OF JOBS. That in itself should give you goose bumps. Look at all of the patents regarding sapphire Apple has filed. How many furnaces are cooking in Mesa? 2500 to 3000? That's a lot.

Are you forgetting that GTAT is more than sapphire? Solar alone could quantify a stock price of $15 to $20 in a year.

    I guess we shall see.

Hype in what way? GTAT took a big haircut already.
What do you expect or think Apple is going to do with sapphire produced by GTAT?

Also, why aren't you following the big money trail? Shorts are getting out. You said it yourself.

And what does that tell you quickplat555?
Big money shorts are exiting the building leaving retail and boiler room shorts holding the bag.

If shorts have covered(per what you said), why do you expect further downside?

  • You had your move from 20.50 down to 14. You should be thrilled.. All of the bad news is baked in. Your best hope is that Apple will not use GTAT's sapphire in any capacity for it's upcoming product launch.
The market does not believe it.
Nobody I've talked to believes it.
The current stock price is showing you that the market believes there's something to this GTAT sapphire thing. All negative rumors have been priced in, and now there's only an upside surprise to low expectations.

I suppose you could be holding out for a huge market correction between now and September, but that's not a solid shorting thesis for GTAT.

No hard feelings, but it's time for you to go.
