I don't know if the sales will be as strong for RB4. It's a big experiment. That game was released 5 years ago. Gaming has changed quite a bit since then, and if the old guitars are compatible with the new game, then I'd imagine that the "black market" for used guitars will stifle sales a little bit.
I think there's a lot of room for $ to be made for anybody who is able to accurately project the future sales of RB4 and get a good gauge on the excitement for it. Those games were so popular, why did they stop making them in the first place?
What was the alternative? Just not produce the guitars?
Probably an employee who works for Rockband or is in-the-know over there. If they knew the rockband/guitar hero franchises were struggling in advance, they would have known that any companies dependent on the controllers would collapse as well.
Yeah, the gaming headsets market is incredibly saturated. MCZ is playing the long game and staying afloat while the market fragmentation subsides. The new rockband franchise should give MCZ plenty of money and time to stick around while the strictly audio companies struggle to compete. I should have poured money into MCZ 2-3 weeks ago when that Rockband stuff first leaked... big mistake not to.
Nintendo is up 31-32% at the moment. That's a payday for those investors. The savvy ones probably knew that it was only a matter of time before Nintendo decided to port games to mobile and tap into that huge market of casual gamers who are unwilling to buy a 3DS
Good news for mobile gaming controllers, especially if they decide to support them right away instead of adding support as a feature down the road. I'd hope that they'd support them right away. I couldn't imagine how playing mario on touch controls would be. dpad touch
The MadCatz & Tritton SKU competition is really confusing. Throw Cyborg and Saitek in there too... confusing.
How do they prove that consumers want their products?
The only problem with this is that the "Mad Catz® L.Y.N.X.™ 9 Mobile Hybrid Controller for Android™ Smartphones and Tablets, & PC".....
.... COSTS THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS. WHO IS GOING TO PAY MORE FOR A CONTROLLER THAN THEIR PHONE?
$300 is laughable for a controller. No parent is going to shell out that kind of money "for a controller"
They need to stop with the stupid abbreviated names. It's not good for search engine optimization and makes some of the products more difficult to find through searches. R.A.T. should just be RAT. They're all stupid. S.T.R.I.K.E..... ugh.
No it's not. Get off board... take your losses like a man
Have you ever read anything that cnoinvestor has said over the past few years about this shthole? He's the only competent investor on this board trying to keep turd dragons like yourself from throwing children's college fund into this #$%$ yogurt-serving slotmachine hole in the wall MPEL stepchild in the middle of the woods. EGT had some interesting prospects 2-3 years ago, but management decided to take the die slowly approach instead of actually positioning this company to make any money.
Micro said in another thread: "Somewhere during the CC the comment was made that MCZ ended the quarter with inventory ~$1.5M higher than planned."
(69-49)/69 = 30% price cut, they're selling these headsets at pretty much break even. Looks like they're just getting rid of old inventory.
Android micro-consoles were a complete flop. Ouya, Mojo, Amazon Fire TV and the long list of others... none of them are doing well. They got into the market a few years too late. The next-gen consoles killed them all.
