  • PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The final report from a landmark federal study on hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, found no evidence that chemicals or brine water from the gas drilling process moved upward to contaminate drinking water at a site in western Pennsylvania.

The Department of Energy report, released Monday, was the first time an energy company allowed independent monitoring of a drilling site during the fracking process and for 18 months afterward. After those months of monitoring, researchers found that the chemical-laced fluids used to free gas stayed about 5,000 feet below drinking water supplies.

Scientists used tracer fluids, seismic monitoring, and other tests to look for problems, and created the most detailed public report to date about how fracking affects adjacent rock structures.

The fracking process uses millions of gallons of high-pressure water mixed with sand and chemicals to break apart rocks rich in oil and gas. That has led to a national boom in production, but also concerns about possible groundwater contamination.

A separate study published this week by different researchers examined drilling sites in Pennsylvania and Texas using other methods. It found that faulty well construction can cause pollution, but not fracking itself.

Avner Vengosh, a Duke University scientist involved with that study, just published in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, said in an email that it appears the Energy Department report on the Pennsylvania site is consistent with their findings.

eported positive top-line results from its pivotal Phase III efficacy study of BEMA buprenorphine in opioid-experienced patients. BEMA buprenorphine is being developed for the management of pain severe enough to require daily, around-the-clock, long-term opioid treatment and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate in both patients who are opioid naive and opioid experienced.

Tailfeathers will have to wait until October before he can feed on any prey! I think this guy is a mail clerk at a mutual fund and saw an open letter for a sell going to a floor trader. The order said sell a few of our most profitable holdings. Poor guy now has to take out the trash and clean the bathrooms ...... so sad!

I have tried some China stocks and do not trust any of them, so I will pass on Ailbaba. I always look at insider ownership and how much they own. Make sure to read a few books about when to sell a stock, as that is the hardest thing to do correctly. Pay attention to stocks gaining 20% or more during 1 day and try to hold them longer than normal. Some of my great buys were Coffee People DDRX , later bought out by GMCR, CMG right after MCD spun it off, and a small storage company which was purchased by EMC. I think some great things will happen this fall...., but remember to sell in May than go away. I own several drip stocks like PAYX and WFC, PEP, INTC, HOG, ect.

I think you should look at ICLR and one just to watch MNOV. I would sit on the cash and wait until a buying opportunity presents itself. I bought RWLK today at $15.00 just for fun and it went up 113% today. I will sell it on Monday when it takes off again. RWLK hit $30.00 at one point today. I sold all of my FOLD at $7.25 after I bought at $4. and change. Made a quick 21K on that one and it is still ranked better than BDSI. Read IBD and WSJ every day and watch the new highs scroll by as they happen if you can watch the market during the day.

    Good Luck

The Fed views valuations in some parts of the market — especially for smaller social media companies and biotech stocks — as being “substantially stretched,” even after a “notable downturn in equity prices for such firms early in the year.”

Look at the volume! No matter what you say, this decline is doing damage to this stock. Use your head and limit your losses. If the market corrects, it will not matter if the drug is approved, as it will be buy the rumor, sell the news. Be careful as nothing is a sure bet, and believe me, this is a bet.
