gben...good info and I'll add that the last sentence of the article stated they-(Morgan Stanley) are raising their price target for U.S. Silica from $59 to $80--( just a little more info)
The title of the article is--"There's not enough sand to satisfy America's insatiable fracking demand" and a quote in the article from a recent Morgan Stanley report--"We believe the industry now sits on the verge of a prolonged frac sand supply shortage"----go to Yahoo Slca news for story--and hold onto your shares !!! I am !!
This method of fracking-"slickwater hybrid completions" has been around for a long time--nothing new--e&p cos.have been using it with great results. Thanks for your input!!
oh2bfishin--(I like your handle)--to comment on U.S.Silica (Slca)--I've been in for 11/2 years-ave cost $23--and have been totally amazed by it's performance--I know, not as great as Emes but fantastic returns--they (Slca) have the sand and are constantly adding to capacity--their distribution system is first class--I listen to all conference calls and read the transcripts very carefully and IMO the management team is tops-making all the right moves--this energy revolution taking place here is going to last a long time--get on board with the winners and enjoy the ride !! Best of luck!! The demand for sand will continue.
jimmy....great summary--I agree and am onboard for the long haul---management is doing all the right things--shareholders will be rewarded !!!
profit....very good question--hard to answer--I'm in at ave cost of 23 bought around 1 and1/2 yrs.ago. Yes I could sell anytime now and have a real good gain--I really don't have an exit plan--I do all the research I can and from all I see this energy revolution has a long way to go--frac sand in a main ingredient necessary to get the oil and gas from the shale--U.S,Silica has been making all the right moves enhancing their leadership position in the industry--I listen to every earnings conference call and read the transcript--IMO this management team is tops. This co. and industry is on a roll--I know this run will not continue straight up as it has been--it will have it's pullbacks as all stocks do but I intend to stay onboard--If one sells when do you buy back?? I'm not that good on timing short (or medium term) market swings. As long as I see continued demand for the sand and the management keeps doing the right things I'm holding my shares. This thing may ride for a few more years--see recent comments from Morgan Stanley posted on this board ! Best of luck to you!
I love the quote from the report saying "the firm expects a multi-year frac sand shortage"--exactly my sentiments. U.S.Silica is a great long term buy and hold !!!! Think Energy Revolution and Fracking!!!!!!
U.S. Silica price target raised ot $80 from $59 at Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley raised U.S. Silica's price target to $80 and said it continues to be a top Overweight small-cap pick. The firm expects a multi-year frac sand shortage and for demand to nearly double in 2016 vs. 2013. The analyst believes industry capacity growth is being held back by distribution issues and believes U.S. Silica has strong logistic capabilities and pricing power.
China Mobil still rolling out 4G network--still not available in all cities--Chinese still love the I-phone--will find a way to obtain one--Apple just beginning to have an impact in other countries such as Brazil and India---we'll do just fine !!
from $59 with an overweight rating !!!!!! Happy days !!!!!!
