    Selling into this strength...

    by cgreens72 Feb 14, 2014 12:47 PM

    Hey there Greg.

My money is staying in the sector. I am just taking shots for another stock with better gains in the near/medium term. I will keep a small core here, just because...I try not to fall in love with stocks. It can be easy to do that, speaking from personal experience. I wish you well always, along with good health.

I don't believe silver is going to slow down until it crosses $23 and even then it should be a healthy pullback followed by another rise. Having said that, I cannot short this sector, nor do I want to gamble against fundamentals. Nothing wrong with holding shares here in the face of rising silver price.

  • Wow! Beautiful day for EXK with this strength in silver. Worth the wait!

Good to see you around chemaes! I wanted to sell some into the strength today also. I did sell a lot or two in the sector earlier in the week and of course wish I had those to sell today or yesterday. My SLW positions are looking too nice to sell right now in the face of this strength. Gonna roll the dice a bit looking towards next week! Peace

Also, if EXK paid a dividend, I might feel differently. I don't see anything like that happening in the future either.

I had waited years to build up a lot of shares here, but have been selling out of positions and moving them into other miners on the pops. I am happy that EXK has rebounded nicely to enable me to do so. Of all the stocks I own, this one seems the most unsure of what the future holds, which isn't saying too much because many in the sector are uncertain. With unsure taxation awaiting, I want to make what I can and move on now. I will probably always hold some shares here anyway. Peace.

Not for this price. We are talking about almost 1 million ounces of gold and the company makes money!

Higher prices will only help. A wait and see approach. These actions mentioned about non-exploration in themselves can be catalysts for higher prices. I don't believe we will see depressed prices for the next year. They aren't calling me for predictions, but It seems this is more of a reaction than it is a decision. The producers cannot predict how the prices will go. I think you make changes based on your company's current financial outlook with prices as is and move forward. That is all any of them can really do. They have taxation to deal with also and perhaps they are just being a little more cautious until the realize the new bottom line...

$3 was a gift and I took my profits on those shares while I wait for the rest of my shares to mature. I will buy on more significant weakness of course. Plenty of shares here and wouldn't mind more!

I am looking at how much they produce and at what price. A little bit of growth and we have one million ounces of gold here. Anticipating higher gold prices based on currency troubles, I bought more at the current bottom. See if this area continues to provide support. Peace

The endgame is a reset of the currency. They are passing trillion dollar moves as we sleep. What a fargin joke this is! Reset - That will happen. When? They say...What if it is 2014? You wanna call range bound for five years and you are predicting the future? Got a graph/chart or something? How often have you been right about the future? About as much as me, news or others I reckon. You have been selling covered calls for some time and you will not be able to continue making money as you have forever, no matter how hard you wish for it. Party has to stop sometimes. You are like me on the craps table betting Yo-11 and Ace-Deuce 1-2 to come out. Not making much if I hit a 7, and would prefer craps coming out! Put your fingers on your temples and try to explode their brains if you want to. I will try to stay out of the way! The world is what we make of it, and the future ain't all that bright for the US of A, no matter how we slice it!

A couple thumbs down for my decade long strategy, eh? I haven't posted here in a long time and return to love. Fun! Where are quail and Greg? Enjoy everyone!

  • Waste of space and blowing hot air here for years. Best to put on ignore. Really cleans the board up nicely!

  • cgreens72 cgreens72 Jan 18, 2014 1:52 AM Flag

First five trading days of the market this year indicate 2014 is a down year. You can have your January finish if you want, with heck to pay in different months averaging it out. If Jan ends up, sell high!

SLW is a different story. Something is holding this back as I can never have enough shares here and EGO. Perhaps people are confused as to how streaming model produces such wonderful revenue. They need an earnings report to show people what time it is!

Say hi to YDM for me.

    Onward!

This has always been a well run company. I have owned shares here for many years and some of the people that used to post on this board that were with me are no longer around here, That being said, once EGO goes over a million ounces annually, it should attract more big players.

They are treating Greece, particularly Skouries with kid gloves and they should as it is a major investment. We hadn't had debt at all until we took on European Goldfields, but it marked "the major move" for this company. With the current vicious deflation cycle in Greece and the area covered in those neighboring regions, El Dorado is to continue just as they say. "Disciplined" at keeping production costs down and also continue to be one of the low cost leaders in the industry. They know the drill. No pun intended. Looking for gold producer? Here is one for anyone. Especially for a pure gold play.

With the way the prices were hit last year, I took some pretty heavy losses across the board. I won't invest in anything else until they change the system. I hope this year returns some of the fundamental losses I took. Technical Analysis cannot guarantee money, but it can help to save some.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    Question of the day

    by wallstbull72 Jan 17, 2014 11:42 AM
    cgreens72 cgreens72 Jan 18, 2014 1:11 AM Flag

Perhaps you should have a set target price and not sell until it hits that target? That is if you are just looking to make a little bit of cash. It isn't sounding like you are wanting to invest here, just flip it for a trade. So as soon as you feel comfortable and making a profit, sell into that strength. The companies that I "invest" in have a core share holding and I trade around that core. Of course selling into strength as the PPS permits. For example, I start an initial core purchase by buying EXK @ $6 and then buy shares #$%$ and $4. When the price hits $5, I will sell my shares purchased @4 and then when it gets to $6, sell my $5 shares and let the rest ride the trend out. Hopefully to do it all over again, even if I have to change where my core holding is. Like buy shares @ $7 and sell the shares bought @$6, to make $7 my new core holdings. I hope you make some cash. Been awhile since this sector has rallied, as many longs know... Peace
