You must be on DOPE!
We have already received literature on the new VISA Anywhere card by CITI (Citigroup) as the Costco Membership Card. Go pump JPM on another site.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Good Luck Carolyn, hope the report tonight is good for all of us, their next quarter projection ought to be a dandy because of the Costco start-up. Costco is our favorite place to shop, we've bought a car using their discount, tires, gasoline, electronics, (love the return policy and warranty), grocery and pet items, pizza and soft ice cream at the snack bar. The store is always spotless. I have owned COST stock before but it seemed like dead money (didn't move up or down) and I sold it and bought OLLI near the low of $14, bumping on $27 now. Thinking about selling OLLI and put the money into more V.
Selling - hoping to buy it back cheaper. Good Luck Novice if you did sell at $80.85 as you suggested. Looks like you will be buying "V" back at a higher price if you want to own it. Patience, if you don't have some, get some. Earnings tomorrow after close. Visa delivered positive surprises in three of the last four quarters with an average beat of 7.13%.
Amex didn’t do itself any favors after cutting ties with its 16-year-old Costco account. Costco alone accounted for 8% or $80 billion of the company’s billed business and about 20% or $14 billion of its interest bearing credit portfolio. Management has indicated the breakup could generate a loss for the next couple years.
The new card is "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi" and it is the new Costco Membership Card starting June 20th and can be used anywhere. Cash back paid annually ranges from 4% to 1%.
Right on benji...just because you can doesn't mean you will. People use the credit card to accumulate the rebate that helps pay for the membership fee. If I stood in line to watch 100 customers complete their purchase, as suggested by novice, I would be escorted out to a police car. I would bet she's never seen the inside of a Costco store. We charge everything on a card to collect the benefit offered and pay it off completely each month. Been doing that for 52 years, never paid one cent of interest.
I think you are "out to lunch permanently". Like I asked before, what state do you live in? Try buying gasoline with cash, can't do it. We shop at Costco once or twice a week and we see no one using cash for purchases. Would you buy a 75" ($3,000) TV with cash, didn't think so. Members use the card for the annual rebate, it's that simple - yes you are a "novice"! You chose an appropriate name. I've been at this for 50 years, how many days have you been investing?
Close but no cigar, was just 36 cents away from a new 52 week HI before 10:00, need the averages to be positive to make the new HI. Should happen today if the averages go positive.
Should happen before 10: AM EST. Just my opinion, of course. Anyone that doesn't see the true potential of this stock should deserve to stay POOR! Have a great day and weekend.
People are just starting to figure out that VISA with be adding millions of new card holders in just ONE DAY soon! If you don't buy shares now, they will be much more expensive later.
Costco is one of the biggest sellers of gasoline in the US. I think the Visa Anywhere credit card will be required to buy gasoline. We buy all of our gasoline at Costco.
The no 1 theme focuses on the “potential of internet” and five names are ranked as best: Alibaba Group (BABA), Alphabet (GOOGL), Facebook (FB), Visa (V) and Zalando (ZALG.Germany).
We shop at Costco and they never accepted Visa at our stores. The only way to pay was American Express Costco ID charge card, cash, or check. What state do you live in?
The transition has been in the works for some time, you are correct about that, but the switch is going to take affect on June 20. American Express needed more time to transfer account information, etc. or Visa would already be the card required at Costco. The American Express cards become useless after June 19th and ANY Visa card can be used at Costco starting June 20 but ONLY the new Citigroup Costco Anywhere card will receive the rebate benefits. How does Master Card even enter into this? I am a V stockholder and I feel this should be great for the company.
