SC usually don't have any presence in global mkts, they depend on US large companies. I received an email from local investing firm. They suggest LCV and EM.
They are the 2nd company this yr that is thinking there will be a major correction. They recommend muni bonds, em and lcv.
I haven't been on the computer for a while because I am in Fl. for the month of Feb, will be leaving the first of March. We were so busy I was worn out when I would return to the condo. So this is the first time I have been on Y Finance this month.
Anyhow, I kept most of the stocks in my IRA's, but I sold some small caps and half my CSCO. With that money I purchased my GDX like I said I was going to do. It has been treating me very well. I couldn't believe how much it went up since the last time I looked.
I see on Morningstar that the PMI and PPI both went down...I would have thought the mkt would correct bc of that and the fed tapering. I still believe there is going to be a larger pullback b4 the SP goes to or beyond 2K. I don't think unemp will get much lower either.
When the correction does happen, I will definitely put some of my money from this fund into VINIX, VIEIX and and either VGSTX or VEMIX.
2 analysts today said to buy gold, one said gold mines. He mentioned GDX etf. They said beause EM have been hit so badly, now is the time to get into gold. Don't quite understand what EM has to do with gold.
Yes, that's true. But I like to take my money out before the correction and buy back when it looks like things are going back up.
On Squawk talk, David said that history shows every time there is a change in the fed, the mkt has always gone up or down 10%.
He announced it LAST year when the mkt was skyrocketing...moron.
Not only did he announce it at Sohls conference center, but CNBC kept updating us after every commercial from 9:30 until 12:00. His friends at CNBC were helping him when he decided his call was wrong, just like his hiring of Ron Johnson at JCP. If you can't make it legally, then get another job...period.
And their analysts said they think a correction is coming as soon as Feb. I should have listened and sold my stocks. Sold today though....I'll purchase later. With China doing as bad as they are, I can't see our industries selling as good as they have been. China has been major buyers of our industrial products and commodities.
They are all from the same neighborhood, thus they get away with everything. I personally think Wall Street should be moved to another state, maybe in the Midwest and the hiring should be more diversified like all companies. Too many people of the same religion, from the same state. Probably worship together.
What about me? I lost my job at Westinghouse because the gov. kept intervening with them and they kept losing money fighting law suits. What about the people who lost their money investing and working for Enron? I hear the CFO is getting out of prison. What about the coal miners who lost their job because of Obama? He ran promising to keep clean coal jobs. You NEVER put all your money into one stock.
Anyone on this board who lives in Massachusetts should call Markey and tell him to stay out of Akmans battle. I seriously believe he is behind this.
I'm sorry I didn't do that the last major correction. Since VINIX is so high now, I'm thinking of putting some in LC value fund, VASVX and some in an international or EM fund,,,VGTSX or VEMIX. Also, when another correction comes, I'm putting some in a SC fund VIEIX, that fund has been doing great but analysts are saying the SC funds will drop big time when a correction comes. That is when you buy it.
No big UP. Meyers isn't happy with the person she fired, obviously because his mktg. didn't make the money he promised. If anything a small down.
Nahh, this stock is good and will definitely go up when the market settles. I don't care what Oppenheimer says, I care what the middle class people do. JCP is a good company that was lead down by a person who didn't know anything about retail and it will recover now that he is OUT.
All retail is doing badly today, even upper class stores.
Lets face it, its not the peoples fault who are on unemployment. It is the corporations who have billions invested overseas and don't wan to spend it by employing people here when they can employ in a third world country. How many times do you call the help desk for your computer and you get an American answering the phone...never. It is beginning with your charge cards too. My company is guilty for it. We hire people from India to write programs. Our engineering dept has been cut in half. Most of the engineers are ones in charge of a particular pgm. dept. Look at Zuckerberg, he wants to hurry up the process of making immigration legal. Why? He wants to employ cheaper people who can do the same thing, go to the same schools our people do and will work for less.
This isn't the feds fault.. I can't blame the corporations either, so I wouldn't know where to begin to solve the problem. China won't buy form us or my husbands place unless we teach them how to build our product..
My total bond fund went up .29 ytd, That's the only bond fund that went up. Short term went down and this one is the same.
I'm waiting until after a correction too and will move 50% into target fund, then distribute between LC growth, EM and MM.
Today is going to be a super day, but we're only making up for what we lost 2 days ago. I'm also afraid to move into an equity fund because the mkt is going down and most of the funds I have to choose from are index funds.
And I was going to buy ANF when it was down, but everyone on FFM said to stay away. Go by your gut feelings. At the same time, this stock isn't treating me too bad either, but not as good as ANF.
