The Big Wind. The guy is simply unbelievable, unaccountable, and unapologetic. I'm still waiting for the first "unscreened caller" to Mad Money say, " Booyaa Jim, this is Joe from Hoboken and by listening to you I've lost thousands!" I know, it's only for entertainment purposes but, honestly, how do his fellow CNBC on air personalities stomach, I assume, the required slavish flattery to this guy. Geez, ratings I guess. GL
Stock has been an unmitigated disaster since it cratered in 2011 , completely missing great bull market run. Something must change or it's the pink sheets and technology's dust bin. (Sorry for stating the obvious but venting helps.)
You make very good points and I agree this is a solid long term growth story. It seems unfortunate that its very low float and association with the 3D space makes this a juicy target for short hedgies., notwithstanding the compelling fundamentals. While they are trying to hold the tide back over lunch hour, I feel more pain is on the way for shorts this afternoon and, indeed, in the near future.
I am long and largely agree with your premise but the fact remains that this stock has underperformed for some time especially when compared to other mega cap multinational industrials. The dividend will provide a floor yes but frankly I'm surprised this hasn't appeared on the radar of some "activist" investors. But then again the same could be said of IBM. GL
