its a telltale sign ...that Yahoo is dying .... even their daily numbers are unreliable, while more than half the time the system crashes when you try to sign on ... good, useful messages all get censored while Yahoo collects money from paid posters spewing spam at us ...

"Henry Hub spot price nears $8/MMBtu. A drop in temperatures across the country on Monday, March 3, and Tuesday, March 4, drove consumption to more than 100 Bcf/d on both of these days. On Tuesday, the Henry Hub spot price rose to $7.90/MMBtu, its highest level since the winter storm in early February. The temperature in New Orleans decreased to 36 degrees Fahrenheit on Tuesday, its lowest level in more than a month and 19 degrees less than the average for that date over the previous five years, according to data from Bloomberg."

you could make a lot more by selling calls against your position every month. Just profit by the delay premium. You just need a bit of common sense about timing.....

Putin is not going to have any more trouble finding people to sell gas to than Saudi Arabia has trouble finding people to sell oil to .... americans are not the only addicts out there ....

    meanwhile, according to Bloomberg,
"Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine bolsters the case for easing restrictions on exports of the U.S.’s booming natural gas production, according to energy analysts and industry groups. "

Coal to NG switching for electricity

    by beaner9576 Feb 27, 2014 1:37 PM
    chistletoe1 chistletoe1 Feb 28, 2014 1:36 PM Flag

Feeble-minded traders may believe that an electric utility can switch fuels as easily as a trader can buy and sell stocks. By the way, a ton of central appalachian coal, now trading for around $65, can produce as much electricity as 24mmcf of natural gas ... price was never the only factor involved in switching ...

how much do you guys get paid for this advertising? and who pays you? Maybe I could get in on it?
Over the last twelve years of trading, I have made more money on this company than any other, not even the tar sands stocks in the early 2000's made me as much.
    But I don't tell stories.
Yahoo shows there are 12 million shares short against this company right now. Some sharp traders over at Zero Hedge have noted, over and over again, that during this extended rally since 2009, the stocks which have consistently had the best gains are the stocks which are the most shorted. I am sure that that is what is going on here.
But no one on Wall Street seems to understand this company .... everyone lists it as a coal company and so they downgrade it just because coal has come into disfavor, the last several years. The truth is that Console has been mightily transforming itself. Their total coal production has been reduced by half in the last ten years because even though exports to Europe have doubled the market in the US is steadily declining. Instead, they are investing full steam ahead in natrual gas. They have been drilling for coal bed methane for 20 years, ever since they figured out that its better to sell the stuff than it is to simply let it blow up their employees, and they have gained good expertise in handling it. They have land on their books in WVa, western MD, and SW Pennsylvania, that they bought for pennies an acre back in the late 1800's. And that land happens to be the sweet spot of the Marcellus shale, which is turning out to be the richest, most prolific and most profitable tight gas resource in the US. Console has been gearing up its gas production to where they are now one of the major players in the natural gas arena. Now that this winter has brought decent prices to the spot market, Console is poised to reap steady growth in production and profits for many years to come. And still, no one seems to notice. What a wonderful opportunity!!!!!

The past two summers have seen exceptionally mild temperatures across continental US ...more than 30% of US electricity is now generated from NG boilers ... a hot summer this year would also increase demand sharply and make refilling storage even more problematic ...

Light-Duty Natural Gas Vehicles To Reach 40 Million by 2023
    Feb 25, 2014 - 21:32 GMT

Increasing supplies of low-cost, readily available natural gas, along with expanding refueling infrastructure and increasingly strict vehicle emission requirements, are driving strong growth in the market for light-duty natural gas vehicles (NGVs), according to a new report released by research firm Navigant Research. The report says most of the growth is occurring in countries … "

    Natural Gas will hit $8.00

    by beaner9576 Feb 14, 2014 12:18 PM

so many coal-fired electricity generating plants have been shut down permanently in the past few years. they have been replaced with natty plants. California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico are experiencing world class drought conditions needing enormous pumping of water and enormous new demand for air conditioning ... which requires electricity .... which will support prices all summer ... meanwhile you have Cummins and Westport furiously building natural-gas-fired engines for heavy trucks and busses ... they also require gas all year long ... it won't matter what the ambient temperature is, the demand for gas is still rising faster than the drillers are drilling for it ....

    from the EIA today:
"Working gas in storage was 1,686 Bcf as of Friday, February 7, 2014, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 237 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 863 Bcf less than last year at this time and 631 Bcf below the 5-year average of 2,317 Bcf"

For the last several years the low point in supplies has not come until the first or second week of APRIL. At the rate we are burning through supplies now, we are going to run out completely before the end of the winter ....
