They have to move forward as though they are going alone. However, I don't think they have any intentions of doing so. I personally think SNY is still at the table with a low ball offer. MNKD is likely shopping Afrezza around to drive that price closer to Al's price.
$20 would work for me right now. Ridiculous the best working insulin ever may only fetch this sum. FDA, BP etc all against it for years and SNY did not help.
I have always thought 2x peak sales for Afrezza, which I thought would be $10B globally. That was $20B, or $40/share. I could now see $10B, or 1x sales - $20/share. SNY shares have been trading in the range of that 1/2 share they have in the coffer - that would be around $19-$20. My assumption is that Al is in the $19-20 range for Afrezza right now and SNY is around $8-10.
I still think higher than 3.5B. My expectations have come down but I do want the Afrezza saga to end. We would still hold MNKD shares and TS is worth more in the long run anyway.
I just think if the price was less than $10 then SNY would have already bought Afrezza. You were just telling Afrezza right?
I like your posts. Always read them. I do have to say I disagree with your $8 prediction.
I do, yes. My reason has always been simple logic. They can't afford to not have Afrezza. I think they have struggled to agree for some time and playing hard ball on both sides. Who knows though.
Just a negotiating tactic in my opinion. Make it look like you are prepared to go alone.
I am so glad you did because they have likely not ever thought of it. Phew.
Even though I do not like SNY, I hope they give in somewhat and buy Afrezza before April, so we can move on with TS.
All these big financial companies know exactly what is going on behind the scenes. Just an opinion. Shady in my opinion. They likely knew SNY was out and still added more. Significant.
