Let's see if the kids attack this simple response.
On the topic of utility funds, take a look at FIF, it is a monthly payer, and it is currently trading at an approximate 9.18% discount to NAV. For nearly the last year FIF has paid out monthly disbursements of 11 cents per share, equating to an annualized dividend value of about 6% based upon today's closing price of $19.48/share (or $19.55 depending on where you look). Whether or not we can expect to see the same pay out rate, or perhaps even a special dividend at the end of this year is anyone's guess, but regardless, FIF is a utility CEF to keep an eye on.
For disclosure purposes, I am long GABUX, UTG, and FIF and added to the FIF position today at $19.50/share.
One more thing. For a pretty accurate and concise dividend history for most stocks a good place to look is over at Nasdaq's page.
