Great post jack, you get it. However the BOD are usually in bed with management in these kinds of companies. They usually just rubber stamp what management wants. This stock has gone nowhere for years and years, yet management feel they are so valuable their total compensation is out of the world. I say boot them out and let's take our chances with another team. We can't do any worse!
I know someone who knows this company inside and out, lives in Florida and has posted many times on here. This guy (and his neighbors) are all in now. I'm getting there too. Bought big today. Wait and see what happens, SOON!
cat, what is the deal with topro? I come on here being extra nice and rooting for him and he is so condescending to us it's terrible. I'll remind him I've made tons more money in the market than he has. I started in 1980 when the Dow was 700. i don't need to be talked down to like that. You should feel the same.
Back when he was pumping CBRX before the FDA disapproved ptb, I gave him numerous stocks he could have made a fortune on. Remember IRIS at $9 that was taken out at $19. I begged him to buy it. I had 28,000 shares. Remember DWCH. Rode from $5 to mid 30's. Had more of that. WPI, UTRX, GILD, on and on, non stop. topro can't touch me.
topro, be nice. I can buy and sell you.
taking intelligent risks. Aria "could" make some people very rich. Things have to fall in place, but the risk/reward is great here. Nobody got rich NOT taking a chance. I've had a few of these in my investment career I've been doing this since 1980, when the Dow was 700, ARIA might be the next one. My bet has been placed.
History is the best teacher. The main objective of management is to line their pockets. They could care less about shareholders. It's human nature. The ONLY way to ever see any stock gains here is a buyout or a Carl Ichan coming in and cleaning house with these clowns.
no, management is greed and greed is management. The ONLY way a serious investor would back these guys is either they are dumb or one of them. Which is it for you? A little of both?
and leaving a wealthy man for accomplishing nothing. Isn't America great.
Meanwhile millions of people go to bed hungry at night and this guy just rakes it in for accomplishing nothing. Thank god he's going.
Thanks mac. So again, it looks like promise and hoping management can deliver. I've been here for what, 30 years now. Seems like deja vu all over again. Maybe this time will be different. These guys are way over due!
strt, where did you get your degree in psychiatry? Harvard? Stanford? Look, I'm here to make money, not pick a fight. I don't know what you know, but it does seem the stock is acting well. cat says they are reviving ptb. You or topro haven't given a reason why you think there are good things to come.
I bought back in, but have nowhere the position I had 10 months ago. With all due respect to cat, if you or topro could give us the details of WHY the future looks so good, I would buy more. I've been doing my own research, but have yet to fine a compelling reason to buy a lot more. I'm listening to the stock and it's telling me good things as for as the trading goes.
strt, quit the bickering. We are all on the same side.
" and if Harmonic used cash instead of shares as compensation that still dilutes what my stake is worth". Are you kidding. Pull up a 10 to 15 year chart. The stock has gone NOWHERE. Why give them cash or options? That's my point. They deserve nada. I invest in many stocks, but these guys take the cake.
And I've been here since the C-cube days. Pared my position way down, but still own some. HOW MUCH LONGER DO YOU WANT ME TO WAIT. We'll all be dead before these guys perform.
They don't even earn their salaries, much less bonus and free shares:

PTB? Are you kidding. If that ever gets approved who knows how high this now thin stock would go. Let's see, it hit $4.20 BEFORE the 8 for 1 reverse split. That's a MINIMUM of $32 it would go. How do you know they are still working on ptb. I been gone for about 6 months (a lot of that in St. Thomas).....
Good post topro. Ignore cat, he adds nothing. We few posters on here would be delighted if you would continue to share your thoughts on here. I have a deep feeling something good is going to happen here, I just can't put my finger on it. Condella is due. It's now or never for him (although he has become a wealthy man the past seven years and won't be hurting if all fails. He'll walk away with a lot of money in the bank, so there's really no pressure on him).
so , ex the taxes, they are getting free money on the rest, right? When is the last time they had to "exercise" an option? When is the last time you got "free" money from HLIT? You are a shareholder like them right? Options used to be granted for performance. And, don't they dilute your shares with all the free stock they get?
You are either so naive or just dumb. How much have you made in HLIT since you bought verses management? Can I guess? I bet they have made more (for doing nothing. A monkey could have done just as good as these guys).
