Ahhh, been in this name for 25 years. Actually made some money on spikes to the high teens twice in the past. By risk adverse I mean I allocate 5-8% of my total portfolio to risky plays like shorting CBRX.
I don't need this either. I got into GILD at the IPO (1992?) and have been long ever since, selling calls, selling puts, in and out. My original shares have a basis of $.67 (5 two for one splits). Now $92, although I have let some go recently in mid-80's. Many others like this too, but this was my largest!
Thanks jr. You are 100% correct, it's hard to let go a loser. I feel so much better now that my long is gone. If this stock goes to 0, I can get all my losses back. Is there a chance of that? Should I short more? I'm risk adverse at my age, but if you think this is a lock (and berry), I'll short more.
Man, what a relief being out of this dog. It feels so good.........cat, you should try it. There's nothing here!
was able to put on my short near the close at $5.91. berry, jr, I'm on your side now. Now I can finally make some easy money here. Feels like the weight of 100 pounds is finally off my shoulder.
Yes, I'm out. I'm going to short it now,. berry says we are going to $3. He has never been wrong on here. As a matter of fact, let me go and put an initial short on right now. I'll let you know how many I get. Thanks jr.......(and berry).
Why should they get any free stock at all? For their efforts to increase shareholder value? Retention? I say let them go, if anyone would have them:
Dr. Patrick J. Harshman , 49
Chief Exec. Officer, Pres and Director 951.00K
Ms. Carolyn V. Aver , 55
Chief Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer 534.00K
Mr. Charles J. Bonasera , 56
Sr. VP of Operations 425.00K
Mr. George Stromeyer , 56
Sr. VP of Worldwide Sales 268.00K
Mr. Neven Haltmayer , 49
Sr. VP of R&D
What's wrong? They can't live off their high salaries? Why do they get paid this much? What have they done for the past 10-15 years to enhance shareholder value? NADA!
Only in America.......
He probabaly gave it away. Got suckered by the buyer. This clown has to go (or find a buyer and get us out of our misery).
The upkeep on all those cars, mansions and yachts are very expensive. That comes first!
I don't know how they do it. Must be in bed with the MM's. These guys are all about the almighty dollar and they will do anything, legal or not, to win.
But when they meet their maker, then they will repent but it will be too late! I couldn't do what they do......
Could this be a ploy by management to suck people in to get the share price up so they can sell all the free shares they get at higher prices? They get much more stock for free than they buy on the open market.
Hey management, it's hard to buy a lot of shares with your own money like your shareholders have to do, right?
and actually buys on the open market. Instead of the free stock they get every 3 months, these guys purchased in the open market, total of 10,000 shares. Not bad. That's the first positive sign I've seen from these guys in 10-15 years!
I'm a little impressed.........
