If this stock goes under a dollar, are you still going to act like its the greatest company on the planet? Do you have a price limit where you actually surrender to the idiocy of Henry and crew?

These guys exist in a market that is growing at a 20% clip a year, but their revenues are about 50% lower than they were just a few years back. If that is not total mismanagement, then I do not know what is.

market goes down. entr goes down
market goes up big, entr is flat
market goes down, entr goes down

    Not the best trend line

  • I am guessing that insider buying is either not allowed or better left alone after announcing the strategic alternative disclaimer?

When was the last time Henry bought any of his company's stock in the open market? This guy is the biggest #$%$ out there. How he has lasted this long is amazing. At the very least they should have kicked him off the board after his incident.

  • Nine smaller picks to play semiconductor trends

Entropic and 6 others are favored.

Roth is the publisher, so thats the same company that provided 6 buck target

Wireless is hot, yet you have a ton of companies producing those chips too.....are they not infringing on patents? MoCA is just a standard, ENTR does not own it. All those companies already produce the chips, they don't need ENTR.

Maybe you have a few companies come in and split up ENTR, I hope so.

Any short has been right...big deal. And it sounds to me like he is still short. And he will probably make more money after the October earnings call. I am guessing ENTR mismanaged yet another quarter.

I could see a few companies come in and take a piece of ENTR, but correct me if I am wrong, MIPS shareholders did not receive much of a premium. I doubt ENTR will either. But 4 bucks would be fine with me. Even that is a large premium to current prices.

  • However, was MIPS technology more desirable and less able to be copied? I think so. That is the key in this comparison. Its close but not apples to apples. A partner of MIPS ended up buying a big piece of the business. Does ENTR have any such partners that might want a piece? And the patents are worth something.

MIPS had hired investment bank Goldman Sachs in April to find a buyer for its business, which has struggled for a number of years as ARM has raced ahead in the market for powerful, yet low-power-consumption microprocessor designs.

ARM is paying $167.5m (£105m) of the $350m (£219m) purchase price for 580 MIPS patents and patent applications for chip designs and related technology, with Imagination chipping in a further $60m (£37.5m) to take on the operational side of the business, as well as 82 patents. Imagination will gain 160 Sunnyvale, California-based MIPS engineers in the process.

good point......and if you are a company half way interested in buying entr, whats the hurry? they might as well wait til the company's stock price is lower. Henry has proven he cannot manage this company at any level.

Don't they have almost 100 million in cash? Their market cap is almost 50% cash now.

It isn't looking good. We need some news before their next conference call. Henry will bomb that assignment as he has done everything he touches as CEO.

What is going on with these design wins that they cannot accurately estimate providers roll outs. Every time its the same deal. The provider changes their rollout strategy.

  • cleveland125 cleveland125 Oct 7, 2014 4:50 PM Flag

Any thought on the Roth analyst and his $6 target? Seems awfully bullish from what we know.

Benchmark has been bullish and wrong for years, but at least they provided some backup to their 4.50 target.

  • One can only hope we get a company release about a strategic partnership or deal before the conference call. Entropic has already said they will provide no updates unless a deal is reached, so should we come to the earnings date with no news and nothing but the disappointing results from their guide lower it could get worse. I predict that call will be very brief. Henry will make his usually speech with a few sighs mixed in. His delivery could not instill less confidence in the company. He shouldn't even speak. Poor results and guidance will follow. We were already told q4 is looking soft, why would we think anything else will occur? Analysts will ask a few questions and that will be that. More pain to follow. I am praying they announce something substantial before we have to go through that.

4 bucks. Someone buy their tech, patents and cash for 4 bucks.....then publicly fire Henry......please.

I hate to say it, because I am sitting here with a boatload of this stock, but I would lean towards no one wants to buy it here when they can get it lower in the future. If they are already warning that Q4 is looking soft, the very quarter they were targeting as the turnaround, then the next call might be ugly. I do not think their rollouts are going as expected. I think the North American market has been lost in the short term.

That said, they have new products and a few analysts are touting the stock. That 6 dollar target is a real head scratcher. Plus these big firms must have done some due diligence. So why is it sitting here?

Its not looking good, and the next call is sure to sink this further. But if a buyer or strategic partner is found, it will only take that news/rumor to move this higher in an instant.

  • Who are you addressing when you repost the same posts over and over?

This board is 99% spam at this point. All you are doing is turning away interested parties. Is that your goal?

At any rate this stock is trading terribly. The market obviously believes that there is no real interest to buy Entr at these prices. Two things will probably happen. Either Entr will turn it around in 2015 and survive on their own merits. Or, they will continue to fall and the stock will sink further allowing someone to buy them for pennies on the dollar.

I hope I am wrong and their is a buyer out there, but right now the share price indicates otherwise. Id take 4 bucks a share today. A year ago, I thought 8 was a good price.

  • cleveland125 cleveland125 Oct 1, 2014 10:08 AM Flag

Geez, you just loaded the board with ten more posts of nonsense. What is the point?

I have been long this stock for years. Ill probably still be here when it dips even lower after their next conference call. Henry has given up, I wish the board would show him the door. Can only hope by the end of 2015 they have turned the corner. New management and a strategic partner is needed, fast.

  • Its basically back to same price point it was prior to the strategic announcement. That ploy may have been used as a buffer to prevent the stock from trading under 2 after their usual quarterly warn and revision. Market doesn't seem to believe this will be bought at a premium.

Remember that statement inferred that not only was q3 going to be lower, but q4 was showing signs of softness and their optimism about a turn around was now in question.

Henry really is the worst CEO of a publicly traded company.

Id be thrilled with 4 bucks. That analyst at Roth is a mystery. Whoever that is, they have zero clout on the street at this point. The reaffirmation of 6 price target didn't move this a penny.

Sells for 6? Ha, in your dreams....also in my dreams...., but I believe we will be very lucky to get 4-5 bucks. Whats the motivation for a company to buy here? Why not wait till the price falls further, they just warned that Q4 was looking soft. Given their track record I would wager that 2015 doesn't pan out as planned either. I mean really, have they ever had accurate guidance more than a quarter out? They do not know how to adjust, they have gotten destroyed by BRCM.

Agreed sell this company so I can get out of here....I am bored, tired and broke from this underperforming, poorly managed, cash losing excuse for a growth company.

  • cleveland125 by cleveland125 Sep 25, 2014 3:29 PM Flag

We are down 30 cents off the recent high. The enthusiasm seems to have run its course. I am still praying they sell the company prior to the end of October just so I do not have to sit through another yawning Patrick Henry conference call. Guy sounds defeated and bored. Get him outta here.

I highly doubt that anyone on this board could even get close enough to Entropic to see who was coming and going. If there was truth to this rumor, the stock would have shot up. It was a pretty interesting lie though, better than maple's typical shenanigans.

I think Google and Nest are using wireless standards, unfortunately, MoCA just never caught on to anything other than cable.
