I remember the AVGO posts from before I decided to just mentally script aea* to "ignore user" on sight.
Learn something about corporate governance. To say ANYTHING now would be either premature or interpreted as an apologia.
Aside from which the best thing the President and CEO of a tech company can with respect to public information is to keep his mouth closed until opening it will have significant strategic effect. A CEO who calls a press conference every time the stock jigs alittle is soon ignored when its time to call a press conference to announce something substantiative.
There's an upcoming earnings announcement up until which they MUST remain silent. The silent period starts at the end of this quarter or when they have a firm estimate of the quarters results, whichever comes first. Until then, and given Apple's ability to project earnings my guess is that they already have a fairly hard number, don't expect to hear ANYTHING from management.
I tend to agree, most of us are fairly happy to have left even some hard to find footprints on the landscape. As an engineers Woz has already done more than most of us will ever do as far as the size of that footprint.
And definitely no better, remember that was the idiot who as secretary of state undid a significant part of over 60 years of US foreign policy . . .
That's primarily because most longs on this board will be able to afford it :-)
I'd be #$%$ at them for giving away 4% of the company in large part to people who've only been invested in it for a few days . . . its STUPID.
Buybacks, not Dividends, are the way to increase shareholder value.
This thing can get ugly at ANY time, it just has a tendency to do unpredictable things at the opening and close just like many other volatile stocks.
This is, what, your 3rd ID today . . . Are you totally incapable of taking a hint or do they have you institutionalized somewhere and failed to give you your meds this morning!?
Fortunately Apple as a company doesn't have to rely on its investors as customers :-)
But yes, I agree that stock buybacks can serve the shareholders best, and that's even with the tax implications of being able to buy and retire Apple stock in foreign nations without first repatriating the income back to the US, instead the pure value is repatriated.
I have no idea why they think posts here will have any significant effect on the price at all, and why inane posts would have ANY effect other than to be annoying and disrupt the service, so, logically, they should be charged under the federal statute of interfering with a protected computer.
Unfortunately only Yahoo can ask that charges be referred, unless we happen to have a US Prosecutor on the board who they happen to annoy as much as the serious investors and traders here.
Is flooding the board with what are probably trash topix . . . is anyone bothered to report his worthless behind? I can't see WHO it is, but they've managed to push all but 3 topics off the main page . . .
I guess that they just don't like it when Apple's doing well, must grate or something.
Still a buy under 125 and a strong buy on the weird chance it hits 120.
Actually, its just part of Apple's typical trading pattern at this point. We're running up to earnings so this is the first of at least two weak hand shakeout attempts. They could be nose to tailed or they could separated by a week or so depending on how confident the trading houses are about their ability to manipulate the share price up to that point. Once earnings are out and pre-orders are announced, all bets are off for the follow three to five weeks, during which it could do ANYTHING (including up to one more shakeout) before settling into a variable period trading range until the next pre-earnings shakeouts.
Wash, Rinse, Repeat, and if the resultant P/E after the earnings announcement is higher than 20, ride tight stops.
Depends on what you mean by huge. Enough to buy some other Fortune 500 companies for cash . . . yeah, sure . . . but for Apple does that REALLY qualify as huge? :-)
You really DON'T have any idea what you're talking bout, someone handed you a printed list of topics to create and then told you to just type any old thing in the body, and you're doing it for a dime a post . . . How pathetic is that . . . Ah well, even #$%$ gotta eat.
