If Microsoft cannot seriously address IE crashes (particularly on Facebook - 100% of the time!) or come up with a better operating system than Windows 8 (a bunch of #$%$) then they are dead. They put their guy into Nokia, #$%$ Nokia up, and then took it over to fix it!! They won'lt fix it. It's going nowhere. Microsoft has lost it.
uSoft needs to forget cellphones and fix their core products.
Hope the new boss realizes what bad shape their software development quality control is in.
They need to investigate all angles - including my suspicion that somebody like Google is putting code on websites, maybe in ads, that is designed to crash IE
When you logon to Facebook these days, it takes forever to come up due to the volume of stuff, ads, images etc that it downloads. At least one of these is going to come from a server that is broken, buggy, or virus-laden, freezing the browser or crashing it. This happens every time to me using either IE8 or Chrome.. No other website does this! So I am of the belief that Facebook is going to die of technical faults that the current staff were not equipped to anticipate and find too hard to fix. Complex software projects are bedevilled by this phenomenon unless very strictly managed with extensive testing before release, and FB clearly does not have this in its culture. Countires have started advising their citizens to get off Facebook because there is no knowing to whom FB is spreading your personal information including friends lists, pictures, messages etc. whether or not you think you have designated them to be private. Basically these countries are saying " You can't trust Facebook" and I certainly don't.
