If the stock goes up the next 3 days then you would have lost out on more gain given that you have to wait for your trades to clear today.

I tend to think it is done by shorts. Pharma companies are typically not involved in manipulating a stock. Not good use of treasury funds. With that said, any FDA approval lifts the last major hurdle for this stock to break $5.
IMO, By keeping the price under $5, mutual funds can NOT put it in their portfolio.
