Modan, this is a microcap stock..and as such in todays post financial crisis market, most funds can not own this stock. Small cap these days is 2 billion, so 50 million and no liquidity actually prevents most institutions from owning this..a shame, a sign of ridiculous times, over zealous regulators all of the above, but nothing some funds can do. These are the kinds of investments that make or break fund managers, but alas they can't do anything but curse Dodd-Frank
Seems too low, I can't believe if this company were handed to a banker post Mt. Hamilton permit, that between the 2 projects they couldn't get a small bidding war going.
Pretty insane, I'm losing patience with this and EGI. At some point Rio walks. They have done it before. This is why the USA is a COuntry of laws and the rest of the world is not
Dude, there's 800mm of converts, a good chunk could be hedges. They need to turn this quick before they run out of cash
Book, they hired Jeffries, A &M and restructuring attorneys. Probably will burn a bunch of cash again this quarter, any liquidity they develop will go to the banks, with no working cap to up the inventory again, unless they take the leverage down. My guess and only a guess is current equity retains 3%.
Was in the TCI Q and K for the past year, but didn't have it in R/E held for sale because the contracts was a year old....It finally closed in mid Jan so to me looks like abig gain,, like $8-$9/share to TCI..but of course everything is consolidated so why keep IOT public..I would tender at $10 if I were them and get the weak hands out...In addition since its a NV corp squeeze out rules are shall we say easy...I still hold the stock..and have smaller size than u
Why this is still public I have no idea...the other 2 started moving on the sale of the 9 properties...This is just land, excess c-flow notes and recv'bles from TCI...yes worth 20+ but we need some event...TCI may and I say may with zero knowledge be liquidating in some form...they have done nothing but sell stuff past 3 years...which is good...value gap closing fast. Hope you own those 2
JR...markets pay for growth...look at amazon...IBM is cost cutting and taking on debt to keep its earnings rising...at some point this ends and the cards fall....The company has lost its way..new CEO time and the old guard of 50+ year old must go...time for the youth and visionaries to take over...
We talked about this last month, last quarter and now she suspends bonus's for the team...Great way to lose people..I thought they had free cash flow of 8 billion. Something is wrong...If i did that with so called 8 bill of fcf...i'd be fired. Need to look at these numbers closer, but wouldn't touch this...debt up this is all financial hocus pocus by focus
Sorry Yieldy...If your telling me in this hot tech market that Ibm couldn't have found a better strategic use of the 15 billion over the last 2-3 years than your not paying attention. Look at the valuations of those that used their cash wisely. IBM is stale, when you buy back your stock to MEET earnings guidance that you made years ago, your toast. And like in the early 1990's it almost bankrupted IBM. Yes you don't remember those days, stock was $50 despite the buybacks and then the debate internally was do we file this. And no real investors unless your in a liquidation or unwinding want buybacks its a poor use of capital. Proof is in the pudding dude, stock is DOWN. Not a prof by the way...
Shorted stock yesterday,, right at its technical top...I see nothing but financial engineering here,, no matter how many times in my career I begged CEO's NOT to buy back their own stock, when there's so little out there and invariably it turns to disaster. WHY??? cause u tell me that the 15 bill they spent in this environment coud not have created 50 billion of market cap??? instead it one of the only DOW stocks DOWN this year...in a plus 28% market.. BAD BAD BAD management
Ahh..You believe anything Goldie says? They are just one big hedge fund ;with your best interest at heart...sure. Some of this stuff is now below cash on the balance sheets with projects, mines at or near production. We saw 3 deals last week,,, consolidation is beginning. Keep listening to Goldie, they know whats best.
