Darn, it would have been nice to be in the Apple Watch. Maybe we'll get them in the next version or the one after that. Anyways, OIS is catching hold and Behrooz said that OIS has higher margins.
Brian Blair of Rosenblatt has been one of the worst, if not the worst analyst covering Invensense. Check out his call last year that Invensense would lose Apple iPhone business due to a faulty chip. Check out last month in which he said Invensense was losing Chinese, Samsung, Apple business and then reversed his call just last week.
To me, it looks like it says "5 0 6" and not "5 0 2". That is if you talking about the chip under the crown.
Personally, I have no idea where the accelerometer should be located. Although it's a good angle, I don't think the STM Font speculation is valid at this point. The market (and tech experts) have had time to digest this for over 2 hours now and STM & INVN are currently down -2.59% and -2.57% respectively. If it was STM then I think the stock price wouldn't be down like this. t think the picture is inconclusive at this point.
And the analyst said he met with Range Resources yesterday (which would have been April 20th) and that underneath the Marcellus is the Utica and that the Utica may be better than the Marcellus. The analyst said there could be $ 5 Billion worth of untapped value. I just have one word to say about all this………..Wohoooooo.
I just bought some for the old ball and chain at 15.57, but not for a near term gain. Looks like the Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge are going ring up nice sales. OIS is just gaining traction.

Rebought my trading shares this morning at 14.91. And the cycle continues. The base shares are just stuck going nowhere lately. The only money I'm making in Invensense is by trading.
Good Luck All.
You're correct jp, the confirmation will be made when the Watch is released and sold next month. By the way, don't expect Invensense to follow NXPI's path if it's in the iWatch. Remember, Invensense went from around 25 to the mid 13's after it was confirmed it was in the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus………..Lower margins because of Apple & an inventory write down were the culprits.
Ok, now I remember back in 2014 Rosenblatt got it terribly wrong.
InvenSense -4.9%; Rosenblatt sees risk of losing iPhone 6 sales

Rosenblatt Securities is changing its stance on InvenSense (NYSE:INVN) from bullish to cautious, and says there's a risk of the company losing 50%-100% of its iPhone 6 sales due to technical issues.Specifically, Rosenblatt says the problem is related to the "technical instability" of InvenSense's 6-axis MPU-6700 gyroscope/accelerometer, something that possibly affects how it interacts with some iPhone features.
It's not just that, go to page 2 of the article. They are implying that Bosch is picking up all of Xiaomi, Huwai, and will lose some of the Samsung business. If this were to be correct, then it would be a huge, huge blow to Invensense.
I didn't see Invensense mentioned anywhere. How do you know OIS is by Invensense ?
Yes, check out this article, do a Google Search for this "Victoria's Secret Incredible bra wants a piece of your heart". I really really hope we're in it. ; )
I added a bit as well today at 48.07. I'm thinking the downside risk from the 48's is not so much……..famous last words. : )
For tax purposes, it is just one lot. The brokerage sends me a tax form each year and with my gain & losses (they send to the IRS also).
In my Excel Spreadsheet I separate my base shares from my trading shares and I track the gain & losses separately.
