Same here, although at least today there was a pretty good come back. I think the whole airline sector is in correction mode. Saw on Fast Money that there is alot of call activity with Delta and American. They thought there could be a pretty good up move in next two weeks. Lets hope so.
If true why are we down from $17 down to 15.52 the day before earnings?
At this point really depends on what Jason says in cc. If he says Dec. qtr. will be great, this may go up tomorrow. Hard to believe at stock beats EPS by .07 and Earnings by 4.5 million and maybe be below Guidance earnings by .86 that it gets hit for 6% down. Glad I sold 1/2 my position. I do see this rising into September. I still think if Apple is projecting 80-90 million I-Phones for Dec Qtr. that Crus would have to be making some of those chips this qtr. to meet demand. Thats why guidance is somewhat of a concern.
Typical Crus beats on EPS and Earnings and comes in line with Guidance and gets hit. This should be zooming instead of tanking. Just as I expected. Wall street hates this stock.
My guess is we are down after earnings, althought the Dec. qtr should be real good. Negatives going into earnings: Apple's guidance light for this qtr., I-Pad sales decliining, possible amp loss, late introduction of new I-Phone probably last week of September instead of next to last week, production problems making bigger screen for larger I-Phone 6 by GTAT. I can see restricted I-Phone sales dues to supply constraints. On the Plus side, Apple put in orders for 80-90 million I-phones for Dec. qtr., New I-Watch, Xiaomi increasing sales. Just don't know if I want to hold during earnings release. Been burnt to many times over the last year and a half with this stock.
Another thing that bothers me about this market, is Texas Instruments just reports and beat on EPS and Revenue and guidance was slightly above estimates and they are down in Afterhours. It seems if you don't beat handily you get punished for just hitting your numbers. Crus should beat their numbers, but June qtr. could be down due to people not buying I-Phone 5 because they are waiting for I-Phone 6. Not being diversified like Skyworks, could be detrimental if Apple just meets numbers.
It usually bodes well for a stock to run up right before earnings. Figure someone knows something. My only trepidation, is that I've been burnt some many times over the last year and a half, that I am not sure whether to hold thru earnings or sell after Apple Reports. My gut tells me that guidance should be very good, based on what Skyworks said about wearables. However, if they did loose the amp socket, this could be a damper. My crystal ball is covered with mud, just don't have a strong conviction at this point.
The amp news has been out there a while, whether its true or not. One question, is the Yahoo earnings this qtr. have Wolfson added in. 190 million seems low. I would have thought we would be in the 210-220 range. Don't know how much the Amp loss would account for, but still with Wolfson added in still think the 200+ million guidance should hold.
I wonder why Zack's had Crus rated a 1 on Wednesday last week, and then we had the downturn on Thursday and it went to a 4 Sell. Saying estimates have been cut. I would have thought with the Skyworks guidance that Crus should be looking up. It appears to me that we will get an I-Watch this fall along with the I-phone 6 and a tablet or two. The qtr. we are in now should really be going gangbusters. Any thoughts?
I sure wish we would see a deflation in gas. Its getting to levels that will choke the economy. $3.99/gal. in Ohio
I agree, very dissappointing. I thought this would easily go into 16's. Very good report, and all I see in articles is that it should be priced around 15.30. If this is because of lawsuit, then it should not have been in 15's before cc. I should have went into Green Mountain, but their guidance was shy, and yet they went up 35%. In know if I get out of this within a week or two it will go up to 17's. Thats my luck.
Really doesn't make any sense. We beat on EPS, Revenue and Guidance. Yes margins were down but Volume more than made up the difference. Plus in CC they said they sold more 3G than expected but in the next qtr. they expected margins to go back to normal levels dues to introduction of new 4G LTE phones coming out. We should easily be in the 16's now. Damn crooks
