clearly Mike is out of touch as the above date notes the last time Mike downgraded to neutral and a $9 price target. AA was trading @ 7.76 when he did this. It's up 100+% . Nice call Mike!

    This is headlines and a touch of the 200 DMA - today - I added @ 15.60.

On our way to multi year highs. Not sure Mike has a clue. But he can make a headline.

  • get it subby~? I'm not posting till we have a 20 handle - see you soon

  • Jokers -- Joke is on you. Unfortunately you have zero short and just like to post $ht. However if you are short - I highly recommend you keep it. You should be able to cover much higher!

Nomura did touch on Foriegn exchange - #DOLLAR - which many have debated with me. Nomura thinks it benefits AA to the tune of .20 EPS.

xpects demand for sheet aluminum from the U.S. auto industry to grow to 1 million tons a year by 2020, from 100,000 tons a year now. It sees an increase to 600,000 tons from 200,000 tons in Europe over the same period.

AND *** There is so much demand for their metal that they are already getting auto makers to accept seven-year and longer contracts.

OIL COLLAPSE ****The recent collapse in oil prices won’t affect the demand for sheet aluminum, Mr. Vareille said. Indeed, lower oil prices might mean that Americans buy more trucks and SUVS, which often have more aluminum than smaller cars, he said.

Yikes! No resistance in sight! Upgrades coming! AA hasn't moved in 3 months so the next 3 months it will really move. SPX is up 1% and this is up 2.32% - WOW - relative outperformance for the last 35 mins!
    Up 33 cents - Ripping

since subby isn't here. thought I would humor us all!

Kleinfeld explained that for its operations in foreign countries, Alcoa's input costs are made in local currencies while it only sells its aluminum and other goods in dollars. The result is a double-win as weakening foreign currencies make the input costs cheaper yet the prices Alcoa fetches in those same countries only goes up in dollars as the market prices continue to lift

For simplicity, use the analogy of running a lemonade stand in a foreign land such as Argentina. Let's say you make cups of lemonade for 75 cents and sell them for $1. Now imagine the Argentine peso collapses (further) and you're able to get your sugar, your lemons, your cups, your napkins, etc. for what comes out to 50 cents per cup while at the same time the market price for lemonade rises to $1.25. It's a double win. That's exactly what's happening to Alcoa though obviously on a much different scale (and ratios) than lemonade.

Fear words _ POUNDING!! not sure when pounding is measured in cents?

So is it RIPPING today? get a clue loser.

If you could see the forest from the trees and lose your 1 day perspective - you might actually make some money!!

At $18 you gonna see a $8 move ....not 80 cents.

    neck would be 17.75.
    TAKE 17.75 MINUS 13.69. = X
TAKE X AND ADD IT TO 17.75 = TARGET.

Thats short term - you'd expect consolidation at target - and then further movement to the upside as this is a bullish pattern!!

  • commerce_professor by commerce_professor Dec 18, 2014 9:22 AM Flag

tell us something we don't know. We can all observe the premarket, do some simple math and calculate how far it is from highs. It's like looking out you window and seeing snow falling, and telling everyone....it's snowing today!!

How about stating your position - long short or Zero. and tell us if we'll be closer to $30 or $10 a year from now.

Stating the obvious will earn you nothing!!

I'm beyond bullish - but i think you can throw that one out the window. I think this recent action blew out the right shoulder.

It was valid until about 5 days ago .

    What are you seeing?

ITS not the driving force of profits - That being said EVERY $100 MOVE IN ALUMINUM RESULTS IN $240 MILLION + OR - NET INCOME. for AA

LME correlation with AA is not like it used to be. They can still make $$ with LME price down. In the past no way.

  • commerce_professor by commerce_professor Dec 8, 2014 8:25 PM Flag

The price of ALUM is no longer the driving force behind AA profits. 70% of the profit comes elsewhere.
This company has reinvented itself. might have a little further down. Im eyeing 16.20 or we might test 15.60.

However @ $30 in 12 months. It wont matter if you got it $15, $ 16 or $17.

YOY 4 th qtr is a slam dunk as they lost 2 + billon last year.

If someone had donwgraded you'd all feel better? unreal. get some backbone

    it's called basing - digesting - resting.

Losers seem to think this is going to $10................... so $7 more to the down. Put you money where you mouth is. You can issue a post like "shorting 50k for MYSELF" like it would be for yourself and you would have that kind of money! LOL

My money says we go up $14 ....30 handle. you will see a $30 handle before the end of 2015.

  • commerce_professor by commerce_professor Dec 7, 2014 7:13 PM Flag

    $9.27 to $16.95 = 82.8% annual return.not a pump IT'S A FACT !

The idea that it actually made that move in about 9 months and has done nothing since is GREAT in my eyes. That means it's consolidated those gains in the last 3 months. Shook out all the weak hands on the move sub $14 and is continuing a high level base.

When it breakouts out - not IF- WHEN it breaks out- it will have a 20 handle in no time, and a 30 handle to follow. You my friend are on the wrong side of the fence and in time......not a day or a week ....will prove you to be MASSIVELY WRONG.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
