"Hillary Clinton used misleading language in Thursday night’s Democratic debate to describe the ongoing FBI investigation into her use of a private email server to conduct official government business while she was secretary of state, according to former senior FBI agents.
In the New Hampshire debate with Senator Bernie Sanders, which aired on MSNBC, Clinton told moderator Chuck Todd that nothing would come of the FBI probe, “I am 100 percent confident. This is a security review that was requested. It is being carried out.”
Not true says Steve Pomerantz, who spent 28 years at the FBI, and rose from field investigative special agent to the rank of assistant director, the third highest position in the Bureau.
“They (the FBI) do not do security reviews,” Pomerantz said. “What they primarily do and what they are clearly doing in this instance is a criminal investigation.”
Pomerantz emphasized to Fox News, “There is no mechanism for her to be briefed and to have information about the conduct, the substance, the direction or the result of any FBI investigation.”
Another lie from Hillary...the FBI isn't doing a "security review"......they are doing a criminal investigation. This woman's honesty, or whatever there is to it, keeps taking hits every week.
Al Gore - "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
Hey, with such a gung- ho guy like that as your VP, how could the economy not thrive? LOL
"In a shocking reversal of policy, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are being told to release illegal immigrants and no longer order them to appear at deportation hearings, essentially a license to stay in the United States, a key agent testified Thursday.
What's more, the stand down order includes a requirement that the whereabouts of illegals released are not to be tracked. "We might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether," suggested agent Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council.
Testifying on the two-year border surge of immigrant youths, Judd said the policy shift was prompted by Obama administration "embarrassment" that just over half of illegals ordered to appear in court actually do."
When talk of "comprehensive" immigration reform comes up, this is the type of stuff which has to be rectified.
"I have reviewed the messages and I do not see what makes them classified," Powell said. "The ambassadors did not believe the contents were confidential at the time and they were sent as unclassified."
"If the department wishes to say a dozen years later they should have been classified, that is an opinion of the department that I do not share."
Powell's office said two FBI agents visited Powell in December for a general discussion about email practices during his time at State. The discussion did not focus on any individual or specific item.
Georgia Godfrey, chief of staff for Rice, said Rice did not use email as secretary nor have a personal email account. She said it's her understanding that the emails in question were sent to Rice's assistant, "reporting diplomatic conversations and they contained no intelligence information."
Powell and Rice seem to have satisfactorily answered the inquiries made by the FBI. No mention of Powell or Rice instructing their aide to send material in an unsecured email fashion.
Obama in last months SOTU address - ""We have to reduce the influence of money in our politics, so that a handful of families and hidden interests can't bankroll our elections," the president added, prompting Vice President Joe Biden to leap to his feet behind him.
Was he taking a dig in advance at Hillary and her comment re: the $675K in fees for speeches from Goldman Sachs? Earlier in the week when questioned by Anderson Cooper she mumbled.."I don't know. it's what they offered."
" President Obama will propose a $10-a-barrel oil tax to fund an ambitious new transportation spending plan, White House officials said Thursday. But no sooner had the White House proposed the plan than Republicans in Congress shot it down.
The new oil tax would be phased in over five years, and would apply to both domestic and imported oil. It's different from a gas tax in that it will be paid for by the oil companies, not directly by consumers, and would also apply to jet and train fuel.
"This is a per-barrel fee on oil paid for by oil companies. So they're the ones paying the fee. We recognize that oil companies would likely be pass on some of the cost," said White House economic adviser Jeff Zients. He declined to elaborate on how the fee would impact prices at the pump, but a $10 increase in the cost of a barrel of oil usually translates into 25 cents a gallon.
The federal government currently levies an 18.4-cent per-gallon tax on gasoline at the pump."
Well, this was inevitable, and I predicted a few months ago it would happen. Obama getting his last tax increase proposal in before Hillary or Bernie gets the chance to propose it.
"She said Tuesday that none of the GOP presidential candidates supports immigration reform the way she does. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), in particular, previously called for a path to citizenship but have since backed focusing on border security first or permitting undocumented immigrants to attain legal status only.
"When they talk about 'legal status,' that is code for second-class status," Clinton said.
Sorry Hillary, but you don't just grant full and total "first class" rights to people who arrived here illegally in the first place.
"Fortunately, a German company has developed the first Zika test kit. Researchers at a biotechnology company called Genekam have developed an effective method to determine Zika pathogens levels in a blood sample.
Due to the emergency, the product is avoiding the usual regulatory entanglements.
The test works in real time, which means it brings quick results, and is the first of its kind for Zika. Until now, patients could not be diagnosed until or unless they developed symptoms.
“Our test examines DNA and works with chemicals that react to the Zika virus only,” Sudhir Bhartia, one of the test’s co-developers, told DW. “Similar pathogens like Dengue fever won’t show up in the results.”
The first delivery of kits is already on its way to Brazil. Usually, tests like these have to go through a long testing phase themselves before they’re authorized. But because the virus is spreading through South America so quickly, authorities have made an exception."
