    Does anyone know?

  • Could someone tell me the cost of one furnace that GTAT sells?

I mentioned this once before on this board,,,There is a company (smaller) than ENSV but they are in the same nitch,
HIIT....the price is in the mid $.80's...they are out of Texas....provide same type of services and also have a water purification rhat they bring on site rather than transport for processing.
Intersting ENSV....and a nice area for them both to be in.
Capital costs for equiptment is always an issue with them....but that also leads to higher reenue down the line,
So far so good with ENSV and it should do better from here.

As long as management is straight forward and transparant...this stock will be headed should still be considered a great buy even at these levels.
Facts about the aqusitions is essential to the shareholders and any speulation about managements manipulation of stock price needs to end....the $2.25 - $2.40 entry levels do give some comfort to the situation in the mean time.

nacevitts....Ha...good one....I might be optimistic here but I think something is going on in a positive way.....but still no word....frustrating to say the least.
I hope the new CEO takes charge and cleans house...they have had such poor performance from management to board members...maybe the prior CEO was unable to crack the nut...but I hope that we are in for a change.
The GTAT settlement would also be a HUGE lift...but I hope that they can salvage some type of a relationship with least on the solor side if not the sapphire end.
I could be huge for them and it is something that they both have a history in...the hay days for both companies.

We long term followers of this stock have taken comfort in the amount of cash held....currently $59 million and that equals $2.29 per share.
Since the company has bit the bullet (and made the smart choice) to construct storage facilities for the corn, it has created two situations.
First...they now can control the supply on hand to know that the production process will not be disrupted do to the fact of not having the material (corn) needed. If you remember...they had to pay for transport of the corn, pay insurance for the loads due to the fact that sometimes these trucks would be hijacked...all adding cost and the risk of production slowdowns. They would talk about trying to obtain enough corn during the NON HARVEST season (also a higher premium) so that production could be acomplished. So now...they have a greater control over the inventory needed as well as being able to LOAD up during the harvest season.
SECOND...and this is the sleeper number...inventory....corn is by far BORN's largest expense and now inventory numbers are higher than previous times (because of the new storage facilities) so the point is that inventory NOW is in my good as money in the bank..but that has not really been mentioned by management or on this board....I think that it is a very important consideration.

China is Awash in grain crops..

I just read the article that you mentioned and I agree with you that the prices reflect an artificial premium.
The other issue here is that about six months ago there was a policy change on the import of geneticly modified corn. China has had restrictions but did allow the import of that corn for (specificly mentioned) alcohol ....this was mentioned in a worldwide grain report. The feeling was that the current status was MAYBE to restrictive and that it would be change back to allow the alcohol production.
So that should be a positive for reduction of BORN;s material costs.
    Thanks for the info.

Since the dry conditions have forced up the price of corn, we may have some good news.
In the Shouguang area which is the growing region for most of the corn purchased, they are having rain today and the next two days also forcast rain as well. The weather has been much more mild and the resent cloudy days are an advantage.
A drop in price would allow BORN to restock the storage facilities at a better price.

tradelogic...I had CCCL for a short luck...but got scared of the Real estae situation in China more than the stock itself....wish you luck now that it is trading again.
QUESTION...are you aware of any site that has coverage of these Chinese stocks?
I have yet to find one...just wondering.

barjonicat...hard to evaluate "sufficient reward"...I believe that there could be a number of situations with GTAT....possible spin off of the manufacturing end of the Sapphire....Apple taking the control of that area...GTAT continuing to provide Equipt. to the market...then you have the solar area that could be an attactive take out...Hyperion....another sep. area...
It is going to be nice to watch this one grow up to be a BIG far so good...I'm Happy.

Thanks...but maybe I came off the wrong point is...Saphhire is going to happen and that buying now at these levels is the smart move.
Agree with the sit and hold....but I doubt that it will take five years for GTAT to reward us.
    I am just saying...Look around....there is a need...and so....there is a market.
Some shares are at the $3 I did not just jump on the wagon.....and it is still a buy.

  • I wish I could get my hands on one of these new phones.
The first thing I would do is test the strength of the screen.
If droped and the screen shows shatter....well...there is your answer.
Both of my sons tell me that 80% of their friends have screens that are shattered and continue to use the phone....waiting for the sapphire screens to come out.
So what do you think the future holds?

  • GTAT and Apple are in a partnership which involves the Mesa plant.
Of course Apple can call the shots but both are looking to gain from this venture.
I have always looked at the Apple deal as one huge promotion for GTAT...and it has been.
The margins will be set by both but the promotion of Sapphire is well on it's way and that gives GTAT the advantage needed for the desire of their product
This will happen on its own timeline...not the investors schedule.
Mgt.stated that full capasity would be ...first qtr. where is the big surprise.
    These levels are a gift

Long term holders realize the value built into this comany.
Although the current price does not reflect the true value, the company keeps marching on.
Book value at almost 5X's the current price
Over $2.00 per share being held in cash
Showing earnings...not losses each report and growing shareholder value
The intangable value of this company is the fact that management has been very open about all aspects of the operation
I'm not sure if this is a situation where the company goes private....gets bought out....or continues to build value for the shareholders....reguardless the share price at these levels are a screaming buy.

I can not see where management is to blame and with this last report...we can blame the WEATHER (lack of rain) for the higher local corn prices. With supply and demand in place...I can only think that the end product prices will reflect the cost of production.
