I think those 3K shs were mine. I had 23k shs and decided to trade 5k to see if I could make a little money on a few points. Not a market maker or scammer, just a woman trying to make some money. Placed order to sell 5k @ 0.38 when ask price was 0.38. Never believed it would sell. 3k shs did, at 8 PM, EDT. My range of buy price is 0.95 [Will I ever see that again??] from 1/2014 to 0.35 recently. GLTA and patience! We certainly need that with this stock.
Could repeat your question every day. I can't find any answer for the swings in price. Does anyone know why all the fluctuations and not much upward progress in a stock that gets great reviews that only seem to explain things like prices that day and brokers' new positions? It certainly seems to be trending downward, regardless of how many high price targets we see--60/96 per share????? In our lifetimes?
Hope you don't have any shares at 20.00 like I do, bought 6/13. Have lots at lower prices, and have traded
some lots short term, but I can certainly apply your first sentence to my trading. Guess I forgot to make a
plan, like a stock group I joined always pitches. Decide on a losing percentage and stick to it, selling before
major losses occur.
Need some DD on my brain, looking at the numbers I wrote above. The 22.40 refers to RLYP, a profitable trade at 18.50 but not 22.40! My first sentence about company earnings did refer to INFI, currently my largest holding. Last purchase, 7.6274, premarket today. GL
I wonder where you and others find DD on INFI. Every investing article encourages you to do DD on stocks before investing. I agree, but have problems finding anything about INFI as to 'why' regarding price fluctuations. The many links I find simply regurgitate the days moves, which I can see online. Don't have the
same trouble with any other stock I own. Thanks.
Not an expert by any means, but after reading on The Street Insider, company earnings seem to be fees and loans, not revenue from company production. Can't believe I didn't sell when I saw 22.40 premarket and buy back below 10!
I feel for all of us! Me? I have 3k shs from 3.29 to 4.82, a price that doesn't even show up on 52-wk high!!! I jumped right to it pre-market one day!!!
Look up Seeking Alpha article about Hydrogenics [HYGS], a Canadian company and competitor of FCEL. Stock price lots higher though.
Sounds great to me. I trade PLUG on short-term basis. Last two trades: bought yesterday @ 5.35 and 5.66, 2k shs. On slightest dip this AM, sold all at 6.55. Too soon, but 2060.00 profit is not too bad for such short time.
Will buy again. Learning to avoid whining over profitable gaps I miss, such as PLUG's current 7.00+/sh now!!
I like Scottrade except for the fact that this brokerage discourages day trading. Keep getting messages reminding me of that. Don't want to day trade exclusively, but don't like the limitations either.
Yes, but am disgusted with my numbers. Sold at 54.00, 10/7/13, excellent profit. Afraid of missing out on 'the big run-up,' I jumped right back in at 55.00!! If only I had shorted instead. Bought more yesterday at 14.14. Am very familiar with biotech stocks, but admit, I was shocked by the latest SRPT drop.
Simple stubbornness and stupidity is keeping 800 shs in my account!! Purchased between May and Sept. this year, from 25.79 to 17.69.. Didn't use stops and don't want to lose this much money. I have done well with some stocks, but this is a testament to doing everything wrong, at the wrong time. Hoping averaging down pays off in my lifetime! Don't think the company is going out of business. Good luck if you buy it.
Would you consider running for President? You might actually be able to identify a spade and call it just that!
Couldn't agree with you more. Maybe Tom Brokaw will ask you to write the foreword when he prints the next
edition of his book about the greatest generation. People are nervous, perhaps, because they have too many concerns. Technology forces us to deal mentally at least, with not only our personal issues, but also every
problem in the world. Hard to avoid that if you use a computer. No, I don't real every negative article, but I see the headlines.
Several weeks ago, Bud Rolfs gave a series of Webinars and offered free copies to those who attended, including me. They were very helpful and I saved them [PDF files] to Desktop. Unfortunately, they
have no sound, and I would like to know if anyone else on this board saw the Webinars and managed
to save them with sound. Technical experts have told me that PDF files don't have sound so I would appreciate any advice possible if someone did get sound. I literally spent one entire day, hooked up with Omni Tech Support, and those experts never got sound either, nor did they ever mention that this type of file has no sound. Downloading latest version of Adobe Flash Player did not work either. Thank you.
