Yes, but am disgusted with my numbers. Sold at 54.00, 10/7/13, excellent profit. Afraid of missing out on 'the big run-up,' I jumped right back in at 55.00!! If only I had shorted instead. Bought more yesterday at 14.14. Am very familiar with biotech stocks, but admit, I was shocked by the latest SRPT drop.
Simple stubbornness and stupidity is keeping 800 shs in my account!! Purchased between May and Sept. this year, from 25.79 to 17.69.. Didn't use stops and don't want to lose this much money. I have done well with some stocks, but this is a testament to doing everything wrong, at the wrong time. Hoping averaging down pays off in my lifetime! Don't think the company is going out of business. Good luck if you buy it.
Would you consider running for President? You might actually be able to identify a spade and call it just that!
Couldn't agree with you more. Maybe Tom Brokaw will ask you to write the foreword when he prints the next
edition of his book about the greatest generation. People are nervous, perhaps, because they have too many concerns. Technology forces us to deal mentally at least, with not only our personal issues, but also every
problem in the world. Hard to avoid that if you use a computer. No, I don't real every negative article, but I see the headlines.
Several weeks ago, Bud Rolfs gave a series of Webinars and offered free copies to those who attended, including me. They were very helpful and I saved them [PDF files] to Desktop. Unfortunately, they
have no sound, and I would like to know if anyone else on this board saw the Webinars and managed
to save them with sound. Technical experts have told me that PDF files don't have sound so I would appreciate any advice possible if someone did get sound. I literally spent one entire day, hooked up with Omni Tech Support, and those experts never got sound either, nor did they ever mention that this type of file has no sound. Downloading latest version of Adobe Flash Player did not work either. Thank you.
If you email Bud, you can download and save last night's Webinar. I couldn't get on either, but he helped me this morning with downloading after I also had problems with that.
I plead ignorance. How do your trade '...shares that don't exist...'? Thanks.
More specific--from Seeking Alpha article:
A number of biotechs are sharply lower amid rumors of a sizable Bio-fund going out of business and liquidating its positions. It's Ayer Capital Management according to sources, reports Adam Feuerstein. (PCYC -5.6%), (CLDX -4.9%), (NPSP -3.1%), (HALO -3.8%).
A few minutes ago, I read about some investment co. going out of business, one that deals with biotechs. It didn't mention these many stocks though. Sorry my info. is not more specific.
After reading the article by Rho twice, I fail to find any words about Glaxo's drug and the kidney problems it caused in some participants. This article may effect SRPT's stock price today, but I also question whether or not the author has a relative or close friend working at Glaxo. He claims to have no connection himself with either company.
I read it. I routinely scroll through all messages trying to find relevant info. about the stock and skip over 'dirt.' Unfortunately, much of it is in the titles so it is impossible to overlook some of it.
Other than Bud Rolf's detailed analyses, the next-to-last comment here is the smartest thing I have
read on this board. Some of us would like to learn and become better traders without having to wade
through so much nonsense that has nothing to do with stocks or trading. There surely are other chat rooms to accommodate vulgarity and rudeness.
Stock market is not the miracle chapeo, I know, but what is keeping the stock from 'soaring' to 50's or 60's, considering today's news?
