  • AT&T vs. Google
AT&T recently announced that it planned to challenge Google's Fiber initiative by expanding its own version the service, dubbed U-verse with GigaPower, to several key markets in North Carolina.

    The reason?

This region is one of the areas in which Google is also investing to build out its Google Fiber initiative, which implies more than anything that AT&T is starting to sweat at the potential threat presented by Google Fiber. In the video below, tech and telecom analyst Andrew Tonner looks at this new dynamic unfolding between Google and AT&T and what it could mean for investors in either of these names

Corning is like a cobra, ready to strike!

The move to $50 in the next couple of years is upon us.

Surging profits, massive stock repurchases, increasing margins all add up to GLW moving sharply higher.

EPS to hit $2 in 2014 for sure.

    That's beautiful daddy.....

  • This snow-ball is picking up steam! Enjoy the ride as GG volume explodes moving into 2015!

    Nice....

If you’ve been feeling like us, like you’ve been shortchanged by the promises of your childhood and the under-delivery of the modern era—at least when it comes to cars—look no further than this innovation from

Land Rover. It’s not The Jetsons, but it’s something those bleebling little space car drivers never even thought of. It’s the Transparent Bonnet.

Here in the U.S., we’d call it (and Land Rover USA does, too) a Transparent Hood. But that unassuming name doesn’t quite convey the simple brilliance and complex technology behind it.

MUST WATCH: SRT Viper Races F-16 Viper Fighter Jet: Video

Using a web of camera images and projectors, the Transparent Hood system projects the area just in front of and underneath the nose of the Land Rover concept car onto a head-up display along the lower portion of the windshield. The effect is breathtaking, offering the ability to see obstacles and terrain that would otherwise be hidden, and to allow precise placement of the vehicle’s front wheels—both key improvements to the off-roading experience.

Part of a suite of new technologies to be showcased on the Land Rover Discovery Vision concept car at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the Transparent Hood is a demonstration of what’s possible today using the thinking of tomorrow.

In addition to the unprecedented view of the terrain under the nose, the system also relays a head-up display of key vehicle data, including speed, incline, roll angle, steering position, and drive mode.

Uh, you may want to rethink Apple "dumping" Corning. They need need them in a big way, don't kid yourself on iwatch and MAYBE iphone using sapphire.

Not angry, just like to question how a stock can trade at PPS based on ZERO earnings.

Go ahead and speculate all you want, blah blah blah. GLW posts earnings, not promises.

The only reason I am here is because your buddies felt compelled to invade the GLW board on the wonderful news from Seeking Alpha. I just have questions that they raised, and you are offended by anyone that is not "all in" as you are.

    Sorry fella, grow up.

What is your stop loss? What is your avg PPS? Oh, sorry. That may hit a nerve....

Apparently Wall St does not agree with your pie in the sky future applications/profit expectations.

Again, let the earnings speak for themselves. Speculate all you want.

Corning will hit $2 EPS in 2014. GTAT will bleed like a pig and beg Apple for more loans to stay alive.

    G'night.........

Oh, so if they have a choice to pay slightly more for germ free technology, you actually believe they would opt of save a few dollars vs using germ free technology????? Wow.......

All the other surfaces you mention are possible future uses for GG to reduces germs in the health care industry.

    Nice future profits loom.....

Yeah, it's probably for the ipad too right? Even if the iphone uses sapphire it will be short lived. As GG surpasses in strength, there is no need for sapphire on iphone 7. Why pay more? Let GT have all the small screens for future Apple products. The profit is in MASSIVE QUANTITIES, as in square feet of GG.

They still NEED GG for ipad, laptops, TV's and whatever else may have a screen larger than 5".

Enjoy the "possible" short lived iphone volume. It has little impact on Corning, as current PPS movement verifies.

Yeah, especially the hospitals. They don't want to reduce infections passed on from FILTHY screens used to view CAT scans, MRI's and XRAYS.

How can you argue with microscopic analysis of germ laden glass vs 99.9% germ free glass. Get a clue sister!

You know what I think? Apple had to SAVE GT to preserve its source of sapphire for lens covers and iwatch.

A pittance to pay, as GT was going under.

    Carry on....

Read the CC transcript for last Q regarding Hemlock. Future looks great, and it is yet a fraction of the future profits to be reaped by this multi-faceted, international, high-tech powerhouse of Corning, Inc.

    Looks like Wall Street agrees.

The trend is your friend. How is GTAT trending????

Do some research on "View" glass. Corning is partnered with this company for the manufacture of "smart windows" that automatically change with the sun to maximize energy efficiency.

Flat out revolutionary product that is just yet another iron in the fire for Corning.

Oh, by the way Corning also is 50% owner of Dow-Corning which owns Hemlock Semiconductor:

More than a half-century of experience and know-how in the development, production and global commercialization of polycrystalline silicon made Hemlock Semiconductor a committed, reliable and proven supplier for your semiconductor or photovoltaics business.

Polycrystalline silicon for demanding semiconductor and photovoltaic applications:
Hemlock Semiconductor Group manufactures ultra-high-purity polycrystalline silicon for both semiconductor and solar power generating (photovoltaic) applications.

Here's a tip so you will NEVER have to replace a screen again:

Buy a protector to surround the device, so that when they pass it to Josh and his slimy #$%$ causes the phone to drop from the top of the bleachers, the phone will be protected!
