Also, go to the BGCP website. After Hurricaine Sandy, they went to 12 pulblic schools in the area and gave every family a 1000 dollar debit card for whatever the family wanted. (donated 10 million) Ed
During the 9/11 attacks, The firm of Cantor Fitzgerald lost 600 employees. They went public to rebuild the company [BGC partners] and have donated 184 million to 9/11 charities. CEO Howard Lutnick loves to make money and distribute $$ in dividends to employees who own 37% of the company. BGCP is in the process of selling their on the run US treasuries trading business to NASDAQ OMX for 750 million in cash and 500 million in NASDAQ stock for the next 15 years. Quite a deal that the cash component alone exceeds the market cap of the company. Proceeds will go to company growth and possible share buy-backs. Lutnick says the company is way undervalued and he is going to fix that. And they yield 8.5% at today's price. Ed
It might be the PWE holdings are recent as I could not find them on the Eagle Funds site. Or maybe Yahoo is outdated? Ed
For better or worse, I took my 100%+ HUN gain in one of my accounts and in another account and bought a total of 24000 BGCP. Still am 100% HUN in three accounts with some cash to spend. Now 20% HUN overall. Ed
HL is sly like a fox. Whatever he does, he wants to increase the share price. As I have stated before, he might "restore" the didvidend to pre-Sanydy levels of .68 per year. The buy back seems silly if they continue issuing a lot of shares. Of course he could say he's doing a buy-back and then not do it for some reason. He is commited to pay 75% of distribuble income in dividends so increasing profitability would help. I hope he sits on the cash and patiently waits for rock bottom opportunities. Ed
Judging by a tepid tape, it seems the "market" has little interest in the fact that the BGCP ex-date is well nigh upon us and whose indifference [disdain?] is saying an 8.3% yield is chicken feed. There must be a flaw in my research and opinion. I humbly request and would appreciate the names and ticker symbols of all those companies out there with superior prospects. Ed
You still don't "get" it. Let's try this again II......"Dolt", "looney", "butthead", moronic", imbecile", "idiot", "obtuse", "delusional", "fool", "lowlife", "POS"......Those are words from BOZO's posts. Hence the "quotation marks". He is a "BOZO" because of his poor behavior and not his financial analyst skills or opinion. One more thing.... I realize PWE is a poorly managed company, etc.. If everything was coming up roses the stock would be at 40. I invested at these levels because of the company's problems. Just an aside... to be shorting a company so decimated in price it's a sure takeover prospect is sheer financial lunacy. But that is only my personal opinion. Ed.
Let's try this again......"Dolt", "looney", "butthead", moronic", imbecile", "idiot", "obtuse", "delusional", "fool", "lowlife", "POS"......Those are BOZO's OWN words from his posts.
He can be "right" 100% of the time. I don't care. He insults and belittles people. That is poor behavior. I can't stand poor behavior. That is why he is on "ignore". You have your right to be "entertained" but I find him offensive and every breathe he takes a waste of good oxygen. Ed
Right or wrong - who cares?" Put him on "ignore". Automatically separate the wheat from the chaffe.
Every other post is his a shrill ,self-serving, repetative rant . I just do not want to waste my time with BOZO. Ed
Daffy, I sure hope so. I've hed HUN since December of 08? Long time. Looking back if I had sold every time it hit 19 or 20 I would have done much better. That one day drop from 20 to 12 was horrible. Ed
Just put BOZO on 'ignore" and be done with him His prolific posting adds no value and weakens whatever discussion the board has to offer. Like half the posts are his! Eliminate him and his hubris and restore meaningful discussion. Ed
