HFT at work, too funny.....
What's that got to do with the paper?
Market manipulation can be profitable when there is a difference between the price elasticities of purchases and sales that the manipulator can exploit. Stock market manipulators use a variety of devices, such as releasing false information about a company into the market, and employing trading strategies that impede the price formation process, such as naked shorting, wash sales, matched trades, and painting the tape, all of which inject misleading trading information into the market, to move market prices in the direction that
benefits the manipulator.
“New Rules to Put Squeeze on Shorts,” Wall Street Journal (January 27, 2005): C5, quotes an assistant director in
the SEC’s Division of Market Regulation, who expresses concern that massive naked shorting could create an
‘endless’ supply of shares that “could drive down the price in an abusive or manipulative way.” The article goes on
to note that Regulation SHO stemmed from instances where the short position in a stock approached or even
exceeded the firm’s entire supply of outstanding shares.

8 Placing false notices on electronic bulletin boards in Internet chat rooms is an example of the type of manipulative behavior that is difficult for regulators to monitor.
Shorts can't cover because NO ONE IS SELLING, just HFT between each other. They've shaken the tree, but longs continue to buy up those cheap shares as well. Go figure your no-non sense retail investor has played this game many times. I knew MM would force this company down to the skids and scoop up cheap shares.
That's why longs call it investing-not trading. Every month from now until next year continue to purchase thousands of shares on the cheap.
Next year MM will own 75% then begin to HYPER INFLATE THE STOCK.
finally getting their just desserts! Now DOJ needs to move to the equity market... If they do then it's game over for the Big Banks. Mark my words they will be broken up...
Like the rest of the longs here i'm continuing to buy on the way down. i did not do it when the short forced it down to $2.50, one year later it was at $55 pps. Deerfield mgmt, blackrock, and the rest will need to shoot the price back up at some point to make some money.
Different Volume numbers. All say that their real time?
So MM will try and walk this badboy down until retail can't take it. Only fact is retail has played this game before and will not sell. To much good news on the Horizon
Absolutely SAD..... You've got to hang out on a small little biotechs board 24/7 hope your .02 a post are worth it.
Doesn't suprise me one bit!!!!
The same analytical technique that uncovered cheating in currency markets and the Libor rates benchmark -- resulting in about $20 billion of fines -- suggests the dealers who control the U.S. Treasury market rigged bond auctions for years, according to a lawsuit.
An adjunct associate professor at New York University who has provided expert testimony in rigging cases.
Her conclusion: More than two-thirds of a certain type of Treasury auction appear to have been rigged. She found issues with other auctions, too.
“The only plausible explanation is that Defendants coordinated artificially to influence the results of the auctions in the primary market,”
Cannot let those Calls go through.
May see $2.55 later in the day, hope so will be buying hand over fist.......
