Do the math. How many stall are available in the US super charger stations??? If they are used 24 hours a day what is the max amount of cars that can be charged a day?? Elon wants to sell how many cars ????/
All I know is it's about time to take the family to Europe, prices were sky high last time I was there.
Side note Disney has been making all sorts of money on European travelers, wonder how much of a dent the rising US dollar will put in their park numbers??? Last time I was at Disney World I think the Americans were out numbered by foreigners.
Might have worked in your industry but for most people it's a rip off. Fast food and places like that put someone on salary to reduce there costs. There is no slow time just never ending 50-60 hours a week and when you do the math they work for well under minimum wage They don't get insurance or if they do they have to pay for it. Hotels are the same way. My wife was on salary and if the hotel emptied out for a week she would lay off salaried employees which they couldn't get unemployment because of a one week waiting period, most took their vacation days then. In that case you are talking people who only have a week or at max two weeks of vacation the entire year. Can't figure out why manager turn over was so high???
All for the new rules. I would also like to see minimum wage raised for tipped employees. Tip employees have been getting $2.19 an hour for decades now as a minimum wage but the problem there is every last dollar is taxed now. When I was young I had some tipped positions and most of the money was tax free so it was unimportant what the hourly wage was, now even if you don't make a decent tip you still pay taxes on the money you should have made plus with debit cards almost every transaction is accountant for so if you make a high tip you get taxed on the full amount. If you don't get tipped or get a bad tip the government says you make a minimum of 10% tip on every one including tip outs to bartenders, busboys etc. Problem there is some restaurants will have the tipped employees come in for extra hours a day to clean etc. for $2 an hours. You can tell those places because they're the ones who are always hiring
I live on a tourist island and at least half the population works in the hospitality industry so I know how that works exactly. My wife worked in a big high end hotel, around 500 employees when fully staffed. Out of 500 only 5 made over $100K. As far as salaried people few made over $50K but they were expected to work 60 or so hours a week.
I traded airlines into the ground for a long time, know that industry very well. After American went BK the union problems ended. That was the big problem with airlines for a long time. Like any business there will be price wars but the majors have a lock on routes which is very important.
You should leave airline analogies alone.
Everyone knows if Tesla is successful with a mass produced EV the big auto makers will crush Tesla. There is a reason no big auto companies have really tried to push EV's, they don't work and won't sell in big numbers or make a profit for anyone. Tesla will not change that. Cost, range and weight all interact with EV batteries and the Giga factory will not change the equation much if at all. For Tesla to be successful they would have to take the price of a battery pack down 75% at the same power storage. Cut the size by 3/4 and you also cut the weight by 3/4 requiring less batteries to go X amount of miles. Etc. etc. Tesla will not change any of those stats.
Just seems to me MSFT will get as many people as possible to switch to the free Win 10 upgrade and then a couple of years from now charge for updates on a yearly basis if you don't want your OS takin over by hackers.
Is that the plan???? Anyone know how long Win 10 will be supported and updated for??? For free that is.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Just about every hotel is filled with salaried positions who make sub $30K a year. Generally work 60-70 hours a week.
Man it's about the batteries, man. Elon is going to save the world from those greedy power companies.
You can make rope out of hemp too, Elon needs to get on that fast, man.
Evian backwards is Naive, the French are still laughing their #$%$ off at that.
Here drink are special water from France it is called "Evian".
Depends where in the world you are. The third world countries are much dirtier now because the wealthy countries simply dumped their heavy manufacturing off on the poor countries. Same pollution just out of sight of sight to you.
Doesn't matter, more people means more pollution and more resources used. The greenest thing to do would be to limit population growth to zero world wide or better yet encourage a negative population growth. Good luck with the later. If you want to go SiFi a genetics program should be set up with only people with no genetics problems are allowed to bred. Kill two bird with one stone. Limit those births and in two generations you would have a smaller healthier population.
There is no green solution without a halt in population growth. The world climate has never been stable any ways, mother nature will do whatever it wants.
I don't think it will be a commodity, I think it will be an experiment that fails.
The Tesla story will told in businesses schools much longer then the car company Tesla will exist.
The model 3 is more for a commuter car that is charged at home.
On the other hand there is no charging station infrastructure for a mass produced car. Elon will get to that later.
