There is no new battery tech..............The Gigafactory will make the same batteries that are availible right now except may be a tiny improvement. The whole idea is economies of scale making batteries cheaper by producing in huge volumes.
I've just flown in a couple of times renting a car to drive up to Tahoe. I remember one drive on some flat almost nothing growing area before you start driving up. The wind was blowing the car around and technically that may be scrub land or something like that but I didn't see much in the way of trees or large bushes. Even the mountains on that side didn't have much growing until you got up to 6,000 ft or so. I'm use to East Coast mountains which are lower and lush compared to out West.
All sorts of hedging going on in the futures market with end users being the big buyers and sellers. I don't trade oil for that specific reason, to trade oil you pretty much need to specialize in it.
In other words I wouldn't read too much into it.
No GM going BK fleeced the most people of all time. Just about anyone with a retirement fund had a piece of GM, bonds, stock. DOW component, dividend stock. I can't prove it but I bet GM was the biggest corporate money loser of all time.
I've been in Reno, it's sand and tumble weeds at the foot of a mountain range. I would call it desert. It gets cold there since I was on my way to Tahoe to ski. I doubt it snows much but it's cold enough to freeze for sure.
That's what happens when you let the NSA write code for you......
GM has recalled something like 30 million cars in the last 12 months and it continues almost every other month. Who cares??? No one cares or this stock would be $2.
Oil's down, fat people will be buying SUV's GM's highest profit vehicles. GM needs to get the CTS situation under control. Good car, good sales then they overpriced it because of the ATS coming out. No small Caddies A-holes. It never works, never will work. GM is not BMW, GM's 3 series and below is Chevy or at least should be.
Well I'm actually long on GM and I short this stock into BK, same with Delphi.......trading is trading baby....
Not because it's a great company or anything.
BMW has actually gotten theirs out on a track, I'm sure it's on YouTube some where. This stuff isn't new and once again I don't see a Tesla actually doing it. I've seen a Mercedes run into a park car because someone didn't turn the auto break feature on. At least they have a real car doing things in real life. Top Gear UK took an auto breaking Mercedes out and rode it through town and it worked for them.
Gee whiz Tesla is great if you have no idea what is out there in the high end car market.
