Really $2 on a $32 stock is a big score for you???? Why not just buy an index fun??? You would have done better.
I think many people on this board just don't know how the auto industry works. Company comes out with a cool car and boom people have to have it. That period of time is limited and then you go into normal sales. Again a Tesla S is an expensive car with one model, no one in world does big volume on a $80-100 K auto.
I'm think the cool kids with money are going to go after the new BMW I8. It's cool looking and an EV or something to do with electric and that's how it really is most of the people buying the Tesla S are buying it just to have the latest cool car not caring about being green or whatever. The BMW I8 will be out selling Tesla Model S in 2015 I bet.
Tesla needs a new model to keep sales going, Model X needs to be in production late 2014.
Very little is produced by solar. Hydro is the cleanest tech out there but environmentalist don't like that either because it screws up the wildlife.
Why have a phone OS on your tablet or whatever the Surface is??
Why pay a premium for something MS??? Nothing ever cool about an MS product.
MS anything in general is just a NSA front, at least make the secret police work for your info.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Not that many jobs have health insurance any more or least health insurance that you don't pay a large amount.
Example the guy down the street from me is a part owner in a mortgage brokerage firm and he is in a pickle. When the market crashed so did his income, household of 5. For a household of 5 you can make close to $100 K a year and be eligible for Medicaid so that's what he did. With that you get free school lunches, half priced summer camp etc. etc. His income has come back up and he faces the problem of can he make enough more money to make up for lost insurance etc. I pay $1340 a month for a family policy for 4 people, right there is $16,000 a year, his would be higher. When you figure in taxes and all that he would have to make more then $16,000 to cover the lost health insurance. Add it all up and he might very well just take some long vacations if he is approaching is income limits. If he can bump his income by $50,000 or so that a different matter but you would really have to sit down and figure out whether $50,000 extra was worth losing all the government aid. Of course in his case he has to deal with public shame which will most likely get him off Medicaid. Many people can't just bump up their income like that and some will just go the easiest route.
BTW health insurance if you have a family has gotten really high. They say you should be able to pay 10% of your income to health insurance??? Well in my case that means I have to make at least $160,000 a year. Average household income is around $50,000 year. ??????? I don't see that working for a whole lot of people.
Yawn. Quality is job one. New GM building quality.
Sorry I've heard all this stuff since the 70's.
Saturn a new way to do business or something like that???? How'd that work out?
GM stands for General Motors and they mean it. They generally make vehicles at a general quality level with general value and general features.
Understand customers???? It's simple, there are very few people who can afford a $80K-$100K car. Gas savings??? How about deprecation?? Gas prices are nothing compared to how much money you are spending every day on deprecation.
Minimum thousand dollars a month just gone whether you drive the car or not.
Who cares about numbers they're meaningless, it only matters that people feel good about themselves saving the planet.
Let's say 50% on the cars on the road 10 years from now will be EV's. The US power grid would not be able to keep so more power plants would have to be build along with a massive over haul of the grid.
There is no free lunch.
That's why I was wondering, the Japanese have pretty much locked out foreigner cars since the war. Some times they just tax foreign products to death effectively getting rid of them.
You are right that is a nothing statement but I wouldn't say it's materially misleading. First off not one single fact stated. You very well can get into trouble with the SEC for misleading material statements which this one isn't but it's purpose is clear.
