The stock closed at $2.79, hit a high of $3.09 a few days ago and $3.16 AH. The 52-week high is $3.66. At the start of 2012 it was $8 and in 2009 hit $120 split adjusted. Since 2009-12 they got FDA approval, improved the balance sheet and stabilized and reduced cash burn with a great chance at massive revenue increase in the next year.
So to answer your question "How did I miss this one?"...you didn't...yet...by all historical measures this stock is very cheap and the business has advanced further than it has ever been. Anything below $5 is a bargain, below $10 is still pretty cheap.
Someone pointed out revenues were "only" $1.3M. I think they meant that in the context that revs were pretty flat vs prior quarters...ie the stock hasn't gone up the past couple of days due to revenue growth.
But comparing revs to market cap, the stock is very cheap. Comparing cash to market cap, it is cheap. Considering FDA approval it is cheap.
The real question isn't "why all the interest because revs were only $1.3M". The real question is "why was this so cheap for so long?" Why was it not $5 weeks or months ago?
There's a variety of reasons but the major one is when a stock has low volume, the MM can really keep a lid on the price. Now that there are many day traders, value hunters and other short term traders in the stock (and I am one of them), this stock will fly. It is the inefficient nature of the market. There are nearly 3K stocks on the NASDAQ alone and over 10K stocks between all US and Canadian exchanges. I don't have time to become an expert in all of them. Neither does anyone here. So the number one way to grab my attention on a stock is through heavy pick up in volume.
I saw volume pick up on this stock so I picked up some shares on minimal DD. After getting a chance to review the great prospects of the company over a couple of hours I decided to pick up more shares. I expect many other people do the same and will continue to pick up more shares even as AH trading blasts through $3.
Everyone here should be thankful that this stock so cheap for so long. We will all profit greatly from it.
I don't care about his morality, I care about his results...OXBT I was in @ the $2's out @ the $5's. NURO, in under $2, out at $????? Maybe 5's again
Bump...I don't who he is or how he manages to spam Yahoo so magnificently...but next time I see this guy spam messages on a stock with less than 10M shares outstanding...I am in.
You completely misunderstand what a bankruptcy is. You're right he only gets the first billion, but if the total amount of bids on BBRY assets is $1.1B, then the debenture holders get 90% of the company and shareholders get pennies.
CDN gov't doesn't care about maximizing BBRY shareholder value they care about national security. As a citizen I am very impressed with the response from the CDN gov't with this situation.
Gotta make sure no long is winning even including the FX effect!
You're NOT including liabilities which are $3-$4 billion.
You're NOT including the cash burn that will take place between year end and last reported numbers
You ARE including the idea that 100% of those tax rebates are going to come through sometime soon.
As in other words, you're just another pathetically wrong long.
