Very few BDC's trade at a premium to NAV. Most are discounted at this time. It is a result of being removed from the index, s and p and russell

I am quite certain all of us holding this have LOSSES that more than enough wipe out any tiny gain from the rights. Like you said, you can sale them. It may look all doom and gloom, but it will not be done if there is not interest enough to generate the value. I hope to scoop up cheap rights as the new monthly div from the CLO will be a nice addition to prospects booting it back above 10 cents per month

so Prospect and you getting CASH to re-deploy plus your right to purchase PYLD. You can sell your rights for CASH. You can do nothing and rest assured the monies PSEC gets will be placed in NEW CLO investments.

Would you rather they do an SPO for 8.55? Or file another 100m in notes? If you are a shareholder you should be focused 100% on how to get the market to SEE THE VALUE of PROSPECT as it is trading well BELOW NAV.

Not screwed , it is the best move available NOW. If the pps was 10.00 or high nines you likely just see a capital raise via ATM or SPO. This is going to happen over and over again as those federally mandated investment baskets get filled.

The rights offering keeps the deal pro rata so all shareholders are equal. The way this is structured allows Prospect to have pricing control, the value is transferred 1 to 1 to Prospect and its shareholders, nav neutral. If you choose not to buy PYLD you can simply sell your rights for x per share which lowers your basis. You got the RIGHTS for FREE. Yes in order to participate in the future performance of PYLD you must buy the shares. The ONLY WAY TO HAVE A CHOICE is to OWN Prospect now.

What Jim Cooper is posting is convoluted and intentional posting of only "possible" risks that apply to ALL RIC's.

Read about rights offerings and WHY this is the best choice NOW.

    1. Prospect prices the deal,
    2. Prospect transfers the cash to you and gives you the option of exercise. Imagine being able to get 1 9.00 Jan 2016 call , FOR FREE.
    3. Low fee structure, you guys always whine bout fees, well a rights offering is CHEAPEST FORM of capital raise.
    4. NON DILUTIVE, cash generated from spun asset vs NEW SHARES or reverse splits etc..
    5. Money will be used for new deployment, raising NII and dividend income.

This is going to turn out nicely , despite the degradation of the MB by hedge fund shorts, recognize the obvious

The right to buy will trade as PYLDR, value will fluctuate depending on supply and demand. lets investigate some recent examples and see how it played out.

A rights offering provides shareholders with an
opportunity to make an additional investment in the
issuer, usually at a discount to market price.
A rights offering enables shareholders to avoid being
diluted by the issuance of new equity
