What went off the charts is the record Obama stock market. That is what is important. Life can be very good with a little money in your pocket. Enjoy your attempt to spread your "knowledge" while some of us are adding to our solid future. Life is good in the USA. Bet you didn't know that.
market corrects these stocks will be hit hard. And good earnings mean nothing to stock value.
are waiting for?
I agree with you there. We don't know when, but I believe a correction will come. I was in Ford forever, and just sold all of it (6,000 shares). Nothing but good news for them and stock never maintains any momentum. I may be wrong, may be sorry, but if this is all the stock can do in great times, what happens with a retreat. Great industry (for now), great companies, but lousy stock.
That has to be scary when you think, the peak might be near.
Stock was 18.12 before all the good news/number. Good earnings report. Doesn't matter. Stock holds no momentum. Only thing you can count on is sharp spike in mornings, a good time to sell, and a give-back by end of day.
of substance here. They can't play with the big boys.
Obama to stockholders. I have given you a record stock market. You have been given the opportunity to make money and watch your portfolio grow from the wretched depths of the past regime. And you may have also noticed the nice increases in your home values.
We think investors in Ford will be pleasantly surprising with its operations in China in coming years.
The automaker is adding dealerships at a breakneck pace in the country.
We believe the best risk-adjusted investment opportunity in the automotive industry is in Ford’s shares.
June proved to be another great month for Best Ideas portfolio holding Ford (NYSE:F) in China. First-half sales numbers, released Monday, increased to nearly 550,000 wholesale vehicles compared to just over 400,000 in the first half of 2013. Ford's June sales alone increased 17%, to 87,783. The news showcases Ford's continued sales momentum in the country, something we've been monitoring closely for some time. The Ford Focus, Ford Kuga, Ford Mondeo and the Ford EcoSport have been key sources of strength, with the Focus becoming a huge hit with consumers in the country.
Do you know if any of them had planned to buy Ford products? Perhaps it won't affect the stock price.
Yeah, but we have record stock market. I invest to make money, and this has been a great period. Add to that a resurgence in home prices. Yes, it feels good. Don't have to get up in the morning and whine about this country and how it needs to be fixed. Life is good. Only in America!!
They are doing everything right.
Good company, lousy stock. We've heard that a lot. GM going through a wretched period of recalls and it still remains the darling of Wall Street auto stocks. When the market corrects, I look for Ford to drop much further than the overall market. I don't know why this can't be a $20 stock, but it may not hold 17. And we all know what happens when earnings are released. An immediate fall and a long climb back.
Have you reviewed the stock market since Bush left? This is about making money, and this has been a great period. You are either in for the money, or you spend your day whining about politics.
Obama announces plan to save stock market that Bush destroyed. Now there is some great news. Record highs. making money. That's what it's all about.
is a great thing.
"What you’ve had is a bounce-back from a deep and long recession, where there was a shutdown of purchases of automobiles, so you’ve got some pent-up demand,” Caron said. “I think the real question is, where do you go from here? Because in past cycles over the last 20 or 30 years, when you get back to about 17 million units, you’d expect the rate of growth from here to slow. So I think that’s the most likely outcome.”
Interestingly, just as auto sales could be approaching a moment of truth at the level of 17 million annualized sales, Auerbach Grayson global technical strategist Richard Ross says shares of Ford are about to hit a historically important price level of $18.
The company’s shares have not managed to move substantially above $18 since 2001.
“If we could get back above that big, key, multiyear resistance level, this stock has a lot of upside,” Ross said. “Until then, I think we’re going to see a lot of false starts.”
