When we stick to just talking stocks, I consider our conservations constructive. With biotechs and pharmas there is a lot of things that can screw up our strategic thinking. I have been buying BLRX which has a collaboration deal with NVTS. NVTS already owns 12.8% of BLRX, and it plans to co-develop three drugs that it will select from BLRX's growing portfolio. BLRX, like OPKO, is an Israeli company. It works with the research universities in the country to come up with novel drug candidates and therapies. When NVTS selects a drug to co-develop with BLRX, NVTS will pay BLRX $5 million and pay for 50% of the development costs by buying BLRX stock. I figure NVTS must have done their DD on BLRX, and when they announce their first drug to co-develop, BLRX should get a nice pop. Eventually NVTS could end up owning a pretty big chunk of the company.
If I am reading it correctly, when NVTS picks a candidate to co-develop with BLRX, NVTS will pay $5 million in upfront fees. It will then pay 50% of the development costs by taking an additional stake in BLRX shares over the 12.8% it already owns. There is a limit to how big a stake NVTS can take, but it was not disclosed. I wouldn't be surprised if BLRX and NVTS work well together, that NVTS might end up buying BLRX. Whether it does or not, collaborating with NVTS will give BLRX a shot in the arm as far as credibility goes. My neighbor is a big deal with NVTS. It should be interesting to get his take on why NVTS teamed up with BLRX.
Up nicely in pre-market. I took some profits a while back, but I bought it all back on one of its dips a couple of months back. Looks like it is headed for a new high today. With Frost's continued buying, I refuse to bet against the good doctor. Short interest has been shrinking little by little of late. Man, I would hate to have shorted OPK.
Naw, I don't really care, but I am curious how shorts can continue to hold a short position in OPK considering the beating they have been taking. When Frost finally reveals his intentions for the company, the pain will worsen dramatically.
I enjoy chatting with Fraz. He uses very creative thinking strategies to try to justify his postings. You are probably right about not encouraging the child. I will do my best to resist the temptation, but I can't promise.
Basically said the company may end up getting split up into three segments - generics, vaccines, and branded with a break up value of $44.21. Glad I went against your advice, Fraz, when you warned me to sell. PFE made new highs, and I am reaping a healthy dividend. PFE should get the Barron's Bounce on Monday. I expect it will set a new multi-year high. Sweet!!!!!
So it is OK for Bush's attorney general to have reportedly misled the Congress, a polite way of saying lied to, because of the statute of limitations. Fraz, with an excuse like that you are losing any credibility you may have had because you constantly go back 50 and 60 years to make lame comparisons to socialists, communists, Marxists, Nazis, etc. If Gonzalez did lie, then Bush, Cheney, and the other Neocons must have been aware of it. Jeb would have been a much better president than GW, but this new news will not help him get the nomination or become president.
concerning Bush's surveillance programs begun after 9/11. I believe "you" have accused Obama of similar things. I guess this will put a dent in Jeb's chances as many people have had enough of GW's ineptitude and poor decisions. I think Jeb is one of the better Rep. candidates, but that is only because the field is so pathetic. I guess Hillary must be smiling today.
It is pathetic to constantly see the shorts posting their dribble. I have come to the conclusion that they are really not short and are just message board junkies. Nobody could really brag about being short a stock like OPK when it has gone up so much.
It is going to hurt soooo bad if they don't cover soon. People should be able to read a stock chart before they gamble with their money. Oh well, OPK has made me big bucks, so let the games continue.
I enjoy listening to their logic. I also feel nostalgic when they use so many derogatory terms that I haven't heard since I was a child in the 50's and 60's. Words like Marxist, socialist, etc. have been given "new meaning" in their twisted thinking. Our president has remained a gentleman and done his best to rebuild our economy, fight terrorism, help our country become energy independent, etc. and he has received nothing but condemnation from the likes of the Putin's Pals Fan Club. Oh well, signing off. Take care!
OPK is relentlessly pushing toward $15. Short interest appears to be dropping. Last ones to cover will pay dearly. IMHO.
Wow, never thought she would have that kind of lead at this point! Guess the logic of the tea part types on this message board is not resonating with the normal population. My faith in our citizenry has been restored, slightly. Interestingly, Rubio is the closest contender. The fact that he has recently come out with very logical positions related to a person's sexuality probably vaulted him over the likes of Cruz and Santorum. I am not a Hillary fan, but I guess it would be nice to give a woman a chance. I like Rand, Rubio, and maybe even Bush, but they will have the tea party albatross around their necks. That's my political "wisdom" for the day. Have some money to make, some exercise to do, and a sick mother-in-law to tend to. I just wanted to take a few minutes to help give Fraz something to "chew" on for the next 6 hours or so. Have a great weekend!
