I guess today would be their best bet, but there was a lot of good news on the research front, and the company is sitting on something like $118 million in cash. I expect Frost will be in there buying big time today no matter what the price does. I love an insider who puts his own money on the line. Too many insiders, especially in bio-techs, reap big paychecks and could care less about the individual investor. I don't know if Frost gives a hoot about us, but his constant strong buying gives OPK tremendous support and provides a safety net to prevent a big sell-off. That's why I can't see why shorts continue to fool around with this stock. After today, shorts are going to be holding an expensive position with little upside for quite some time if at all! IMHO.
Cldx has years to go before any of their drugs could get approval. Guys fell in love with the possibilities, and the stock got way ahead of itself. PFE walked away from their collaboration with CLDX for a reason. Pumpers like Fraz, etc. have encouraged others to jump in even at much higher levels. I expect this position to be dead money for quite some time. IMHO.
Christie essentially raised taxes by something like 20% for most state residents by eliminating the Homestead Tax Rebate which was designed to lower the real estate burden on state residents. He also cut the senior's rebates. Now I guess the big guy can say he didn't "raise" taxes, but people are paying a lot more. Christie's record sucks, and the fact that NJ's budget has been downgraded a record 8 times says it all. He has proven that he can't control the actions of his aides, nor can he control his anger and his mouth.
CTIX is trading and is up a nickel!
IART reportedly will split into two companies. Its spinal specialty seg. will be spun-off to shareholders. Check out the facts for yourself. I took a small position on today's dip.
OPK seems to be holding $8 without any trouble at all. Frost seems to buy whether the price is high or low. He seems to have a very disciplined buying plan, and he appears to be sticking to it. The best indicator of how a stock will do as I see it is whether insiders are buying. In this case, Frost is buying hand over fist!!!!!!!
That looks like aprox. 600k shares in just a couple of weeks. I believe Frost's buying is picking up steam. I guess he is in a hurry to buy as quickly as he can. Could something be up? All Frost has to do is say that OPK is exploring its strategic options and I believe this stock will hit double digits in a matter of minutes.
Dr. Frost got so wealthy by developing bio-techs into viable companies and selling them at huge premiums. A relative of mine worked with Frost when his company purchased Frost's. My relative was impressed with how savvy and brilliant Frost was. Since Frost has proven he knows how to develop a company and sell it, I don't mind sitting on a few thousand shares while the good doctor works his magic. With Frost buying hundreds of thousands of shares a week, he is either playing a very expensive bluff or he is setting the shorts up for a big hurt.
Stock took a pretty big beating yesterday at the end of the day. I expect gold miners will start to shutter unprofitable mines and cut production to bolster prices. The gold buying season in India has come, and that should provide some support for the next couple of months. Since GG pays a dividend, it is much better than sitting on the metal itself at these levels. IMHO.
He lost his temper again yesterday at a shore meeting when someone questioned the speed of Sandy relief and rehabilitation. Just walk along the Jersey shore, and you will still see many devastated homes and empty lots. People are still living in temporary housing while Christie has been running around the country for political purposes. He likes to brag about his tough "Jersey style," but most residents of the state don't identify with his rude attitude. It is quite easy for Christie to shoot his mouth off when he is surrounded by state troopers. A year or so back he mouthed off to an Iraq vet who would have undoubtedly been able to kick Christie's fat #$%$ if Christie hadn't been hiding behind the troopers. He used to brag about how he was able to work with Democrats and reach across the aisle. Because of his recent activities, Democrats have walked away from Christie as he has tried to appeal to a more conservative Republican primary base. The only positive spot in NJ is our educational system. NJ ranks high compared to the other states, but ironically Christie has made the state's educators the focus of many of his political attacks. Christie's record will be an easy target for Republicans in the primary, and his inability to stay cool under criticism will undoubtedly cause him to unravel in the primaries.
