Christie got a lot of press on this evening's news. It seems NJ has some ethic rules prohibiting accepting expensive gifts from individuals while governor. Evidently Jones paid for Christie's plane trip and football tickets. The state constitution has some poorly written language on the issue, so Christie probably won't get hit with any charges, but the sight of him jumping up and down hugging Jones hasn't played well with taxpayers, especially his base. Christie's "tough guy talk" made him a favorite with white, working class guys, but most of them are Giants, Jets, Eagles, and Bills fans. The fact that Christie resembles Humpty Dumpty as he is seen jumping up and down in Jones' private box doesn't help his tough guy image either. I live in Jersey, so I have seen Christie at his best and his worst. I think his best days are behind him. Besides, many Republicans still blame Christie for working so visibly with Obama during Hurricane Sandy which allowed Obama to look so presidential at a critical time in the last election. I would enjoy seeing Christie participate in the primaries though. He has a short temper, and it would be a hoot watching him tell someone to "sit down and shut up"!
For those of us who went long a couple of dollars back, the last few months have been quite sweet. We warned the shorts this would happen. Hey, some guys just get careless when it comes to hanging on to their money.
I am not insulting anyone. I am a Catholic, and I am also very involved in my wife's Protestant church. I volunteer my time, talents, and treasure to both churches. As my conservative son puts it, politics should not concern itself with a person's sexual orientation, religious beliefs, use of birth control, etc. Pope Frances has come out and preached acceptance rather than hatred when it comes to many of these issues. When guys like Santorum get up there and rail against birth control and gays, he basically alienates himself from the vast majority of young people who use birth control and have grown to accept gays as God's creation just like the rest of us. Heck, something like 97% of Catholics have reported using birth control. If the Republican Party is going to stand a chance in the upcoming presidential election, I strongly suggest they concentrate on the issues that really matter.
Good luck! I am sitting on some cash, but I haven't decided what to do. I had some good ideas, but I hesitated, and now I have to rethink my strategy. I'll check tomorrow's open to see if there is anything I like. Oil's collapse seems to have the market rattled. I hate to force a move because that is when I usually make mistakes.
You have a good point. CEMP seems to have a lot of momentum going on solid news, so I expect they will be headed higher even if they dip a little with this offering.
Hey, Fraz, we agree again. Christie is killing himself in the NJ/NY/PA region. It also doesn't make him look like a man of the people when he jumps around in Jerry Jones' private box on a regular basis. Christie has trimmed down to run for pres, but the side view of him bouncing around last night was not flattering. NJ has many problems, and Christie has become an absentee governor this past year. He has been playing politics while the state's budget/infrastructure/pension system, etc. crumbles. With Republican moderates like Bush and possibly Huckabee entering the race, I don't see Christie getting much traction. I think Bush might actually be a good president, but I expect he will have a lot of his brother's baggage to deal with. My conservative son said he will not vote if the likes of Bush, Huckabee, or Christie gets the nod. He prefers a conservative like Rand Paul. Paul is an economic conservative without all the sociaI and religious nonsense that some of the other conservatives seem to have. I am looking forward to the primaries because they should be quite entertaining. If Gingrich, Santorium, Romney, etc. reappear, the primaries should be quite a circus just like the last time. Hillary seems to be sitting pretty if she wants it, but I could see someone like Cuomo making a serious challenge. Some fresh faces from both parties might be just what this country needs.
That's the way they usually do it. However, it could be a buying opportunity if their prospects are that good. I own some CTIX, but I sold a big chunk when the good news came out. CTIX seems to be in need of some long term funding also, so I will look for that to be resolved before I add more.
Easy to hold right now. I took some profits a couple of weeks back, but I am holding onto my core position. I wouldn't be surprised to see OPK a couple of buck higher in the next few weeks as shorts try to get out before they be slammed.
Frost has been constantly buying. Those $7 buys are looking very good right now, and Frost's $9 buys will be looking just as good in the near future. The guy is a winner, and he believes OPK will be worth a lot more than it is right now!
I believe the stock will be range bound until their financing plans are announced. The good news is out, so if CTIX plans to remain independent it will have to make sure it has enough funds to do its research.
I sold my shares on the pop, and then I bought back in on the drop. I took some profits on the run-up, but I am still holding a few thousand shares. I plan to sit tight now with all the good news and strong buying pressure. I plan on letting Dr. Frost work his magic and make me some more bucks! Good luck in the new year!
Some people deserve to be separated from their money.
Mybest, don't waste your time with FF! He hides behind his computer and spews one hateful and prejudiced thing after another. The more outrageous he gets, the more he discredits the people he supports. Not only do most reasonable people find him prejudiced and hateful, but anyone who wants to get elected to national office will have to publicly at least discredit the nonsense he spews. After all, he has personally insulted just about every group there is except for old white men with arthritis. Don't waste your time.
The beating is only going to get worse with all the irons in the fire and Dr. Frost buying hand over fist!
