I know you are trying to make a point, but most of us buy the same items every shopping trip, except for holiday meals or other special occasions. So, unless you were spending about $1k per month on food and household products, let's not exaggerate. I do understand, as I am one person and spend at least $75 or more on food and household products per week; health and beauty products, and alcohol are excluded. TP and trash bags aren't low cost.
Here in SoCal and when I was in NC, I saw price increases even at Walmart on many items by about 10%, in food, health and beauty, etc. But the prices were still very fair, overall. And their mail order system and delivery of items is fantastic for shelf products, heath and beauty, and automotive, etc. Free delivery for dollar amounts between $35 or $50 spent, depending on zip codes I was in. Amazon can't beat that for the same items.
Perhaps no Luau in HI, as a possible hurricane is blowing in on the wind. Much different story than I heard just a few hours ago; that radio report stated it was about 1600 miles from Hilo, HI, and could become a Cat 5.
Media machine, without any real news fully at work!
You'll need to review the local grocery ads and make a list, like your mom most likely did to save money. I may have purchased my last dozen eggs for some time, as $3.69 at the 99 Cents Only store was a bargain, when a dozen at my local chain was well over $5, and 18 eggs were $7.39.
Back to rice and beans, or peanut butter on whole wheat bread, or tofu for protein sources. Sprouts sometimes has really good deals on pork and chicken. I purchased some of each on Saturday, at a very fair price.
FWIW, I paid $3.49 per gallon near my hood for 87. I think it was a Shell station, but that isn't what is printed on the receipt.
Upside is: I will walk more, and eat less.
I don't know where you shop, but a half gallon of ice cream hasn't been seen in most stores for about 8 or 10 years. Sorta like that 16 oz. (One Pint) container in most brands has slipped down to 13 or 14 oz. of ice cream years ago. As if folks didn't notice?
I provided a logical reply, yet you found it to be objectionable.
Let's discuss the possibility of the SPX going to the 1500 level.
Ask an ET, none of the humans or apes on this board will provide the reply you desire.
Try again at what you were trying to state as facts.
And then tell me how shorts never cover, and every buy bid has to have a matching sell order.
I'll keep my hip national on my thigh and buy only what I want or need for myself. Market movements don't matter about who receives a gift from mw.
So, you must be calling for a new ATH?
Yes, one of the N bros made mention of the ETF situation, so that he can look like a genius when the whole damned thing collapses. Another and I had this CONversation about 1.75 years ago, and he will also recall my questions about how do the ADRs trade in the US markets when the price has dropped precipitously in the country of the parent co?
He didn't say anything, and I knew everything I never needed to ask.
There seemed to be an imbalance of price in the 2x an 3x longs and short ETFs also but ya don't hear much about that, so far.
Yes. QE 4 is knockin' at the door, and shorts are screwed from here on up. The eCONomy is irrelevant. Janet is keeping the purse strings tighter than...
Oh Golly Gee Whiz! As if a 600 plus move to the upside on no real news or facts is blessed as valid?
Not realistic, due to the curbs and other market manipulators. However, DOW around 11k, and SPX ballpark 1050 might be an interesting entry point.
Not one expert called the to, yet another ballpark $10 down for WTI should allow for "CONsolidation" of those who are eaten by the BK feasters. It's a process that has been in play for five or more years.
And is still in the media hypeblog. Geez Louise! Take a day off, and enjoy your last weeks on this planet.
and passed by gas stations advertising $3.53 to $4.19 for regular. Hello, Janet. In your bubble there might not be any inflation, but there certainly is here in California.
Without checking, you could be ballpark close on those numbers. I know I received a decent return on my checking and savings accounts; a completely different operational mode today. Mattresses and coffee cans...
